Will you be using the stock ESC w/ it?! It might work okay.. it might over heat... !!

I was hoping too. I assume your saying it may be too hot of a setup for the existing speed control. Just trying to figure out what to do to make it a little quicker.

Yeah.. some people say that they get away w/ the Super Stock, but those are pretty strong motors.. definitely a good pick up in terms of performance.. but might thermal your ESC..

You can always try the Sport Tune.. which the ESC is rated for.. and should give you a good 15% or so boost in performance.. !!

Super Stock, you are welcome to give it a try.. maybe put a heatsink and a fan on the ESC.. !!

I recently put a teu101-bk esc and a super stock bz (the offroad version of the super stock's) in my lunchbox and no problems with the esc! But I think the motor gives too much power for the lb. Onroad when you hit the throttle it raises too high and wobbles on the wheelybar before both wheels hit the ground and it takes off. Offroad the tyres can't get any grip. It was more fun driving it with a stock motor so I'm thinking about taking the super stock out and putting a new stock motor back in. Good reason for me to buy another car to put the super stock motor in

The ESC did not thermal so that's what I meant.. the ESC can handle the motors.. whether they are the right motor or not, that's a different story...

Great idea on the Shox; putting the tubing on top. Going to do that tomorrow. I should be getting my extra shocks and the tamiya sport tuned motor in the mail. I also got a kimbrough servo saver. Will see how they work out.

Nice work!

In anticipation of the brushless system, I figured that I need to upgrade the steering on the 'Box too...

Since I run the Futaba S3305 (metal gear / ballbearing / high torque) servo on steering, I decided to put on the Kimbrough servo saver designed for truck / gas car (for use w/ metal geared servo only, as the spring is very stiff inside..)

Also got it for the Willy too.. as Willy has quite a bit of play in the steering system as well..

Crap. I ordered the regular one.

Decided to go back and read through some of the threads here.

Run the stiffest servo saver that your servo can tolerate.. that's the philosophy.. !

Hey guys, I just made a M.A.S.H. ambulance body and mounted it on a Lunchbox chassis just for fun. I figure on taking it to the next warbird meet, just in case we have an airplane accident. I installed headlights, tail lights, flashing "strobe" light and a siren, so we're ready for action!

Thanks! Because it's just a cruiser, if I just keep the stock motor, do I need to make any other upgrades besides shocks? FYI, I'm an old fart, but I feel like a kid again when I drive my Lunchbox!

Did you put ballbearings in during the build?! That's the only upgrades that I think is necessary!

Enjoy! I know what you mean.. about feeling like a kid again, ha!!

me and my son are just starting out in this hobby of rc cars. we decided to get the lunch box as it looks a lot of fun. i've got the bearings ready along with the 3mm threaded bar to strengthen the chassis. i've seen some fastrax 75mm alloy shocks to replace the stock shocks. i was wondering if these would be alright for the 3rd rear shock mod that i've seen mentioned alot. also, my son wants to paint it like the mystery machine out of scooby doo, could someone please advise whats the best paint to use for the light blue body, should i use a primer first and what could i use to seal/protect the paint work? was going to purchase the decals off ebay, should these be put on before the sealer/protector?

as i said we're both begginers so sorry if they seem straight forward questions.

Hi All,

I'd like to apply the 3rd shock mod to my LB, too.
As I'm able to follow a description or manuals pretty well, but I've not too much experience for own ideas I've "quickly" scanned all 276 pages of this thread searching for a step-by-step description, but just found some pictures of finished 3rd shock mods or some questions regarding details.

Could someone give me some step by step descriptions with some pictures or point me to the right place where I can find it?

Thanks in advance!

Plasma2k
