those traxxas shocks can be found on ebay for about half that still new in the pack.
for the grub screw I think they make a kind of reverse drill bit that grabs on and can get them out - or maybe i just made that up.

aren't the big bores the aluminum ones? i don't know about finding those for cheap, i thnk they're hard to come by. but you can get stock plastic ones dirt cheap. and then if you want aluminum just buy 80mm aluminum shocks. either way the aluminum big bore shocks seem to be an unnecessary expense. but that's just me.

well, the lunchbox for my nephew is finally completed. he quit getting in trouble in just time to build it so he can show it off at thanksgiving. and we're going camping thanksgiving weekend, so he'll get to drive it out there too.

i'll post some pics of the weekend bashing next week. in the mean time here's the truck!

<edit>
the color scheme was created by my nephew too.

i have tried the 18t pinion and my lunchbox didnt like it at all.. i have a 17t motor with 8 cell battery and the acceleration was useless!!!

I run an 18tooth pinion in my LB and it's perfect for me. I go way faster, still pull wheelies, and I only use a 7.2v battery. When I put better rims and tires on it I may have an issue though, as I plan on going a little bigger than stock.

it came out better than i expected.

i didnt' really do any mods on it, though. just put in bearings and a high tension servo saver. metal gear servo. i DID, however, put in the bracket for my version of the 3rd shock for the short future when those worthless springs/clips on the rear end break.

i might do something to shore up that camber as well. it's kinda outrageous. but i can't make any promises. i just hope he understands the importance of taking care of it. i WILL take it back if he doesn't. but, he says building it helped him feel vested in it. and he was sure babying it on the inaugural driving of it. we'll see how long that lasts...ha!

happy thanksgiving
