I had a weird Cox onroad nitro car. Was powered by a Cox .049 control-line plane style engine, but it had a carb, not just a reed valve. I got it for free and never got it running. Threw out the Cox engine and made it into electric. I had a D5 12 turn in it for awhile and it flew! The thing weighed less then half a pound, without battery. I sold it for around 50 bucks. Then I got an electric Stampede, had that for about 5 years. IT went thru many different phazes, but I just recently sold it. Probably the best truck I've ever owned too. Then I traded a Radio Shack RC boat to a friend for his Kyosho Outrage buggy roller. It was the original version. The tranny never worked right so I sold it. Then came the T2, T3, Radical Chassis Midwest tuber ClodoPede, another Stampede, Rustler, and a Kyosho nitro 1/4 scale Quad. That thing was neat. I bought it from a friend for $30 and sold it for $100 a couple weeks later after I cleaned it up. Oh yeah I forgot about the Savage. Now I just got an extremely hopped up HPI RS4 Nitro MT, and I'm getting a Mini T this week

So I'm not the only one who got a cox car that never ran right... It had to be about 1976, my father could get it started but I never could... I had a few cars that I still don't know what they were to this day... No ESC's and crappy radio's.. Then I got an origional blackfoot and a real 2 stick controller that would work... Truck still goes, lots of parts epoxied or melted together with a soldering iron though...

my first car was A Duratrax Evader. But it broke the very first day just because I drove it up and down the street and it tipped over because of the wind. So I Brought it in and they said it would cost about $80.00 to fix because I broke 3 A-Arms and one rear shock bent, and one front shock started leaking oil, and the wotor got all beat up and the wires tore off the ESC. IT SUCKED! SO they took it back and offered me An Electric Traxxas Rustler. So that was basicly my first car the Electric Traxxas Rustler. Man I Still have it!! I drove it almost ever day! Its awesome! I can drive it off 6 foot jumps and not break anything!! I love it. But im selling it to move on and buy a new and better car!
o WELL!
lol

I thought you said you had a nitro before? LOL now you wonder why we don't take you seriously? I know it's a Duratrax, but I don't think all that damage could occur from just the "wind". Sorry to burst your bubble man.

Team Losi LXT. I beat the crap outta that determined to climb the tree in the backyard (yes, thats what I was doing). Then I got a XX, XX-T and my cousin moved to Germany so my family kinda lost intrest... Then last year he said he was moving back and everyone went to Hobbytown (my lhs). Walked out with a RS4 3 and 1 month later a XXX-NT. I also took all my cousins old stuff and built a very competitive RS4 Pro out of it. It wasn't till we went racing that he noticed that i had all his old stuff..... Boy was he mad when I beat him!

1991 Traxxas Radicator. I converted it to the Blue Max truck. It was a POS but at the time I thought it was the bomb.
I'm glad I grew up.

my first nitro car was an rs4 3 witch has been in the ditch about five time cause i didnt put the antenna up should have read the directions, but its a good beginner car cause even being in the ditch five times it still runs great!!!!!!!!!!!

ican remember when i opened the rs4 3 on christmas morning even through i saw it before i was so exited so i broke it in in a hurry , after breakin it in to it to my front drive way gave it full throttle and after fifteen feet out of control bam into a ditch full of water , iheard my neigbor across the street , say thomas i dont think thats to good for it and i was so mad i forgot to to put the stupid antenna up i thought the electronics and engine would be destoyed , so i took it in side to dry it off and imagine hearing my mom screaming at GOD DAMN IT THOMAS I JUST PAID 280 BUCKS FOR THAT THING AND U ALREADY DROVE IT IN THE DITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after that i put the atenna up and tookit out side and it fired right up and the electronics still worked it was still running very well strong little car i would recomend this to any begginer just remember to put the atenna from ur reciever up!!!!

www.rb-rc.com/images/bmw-cool-rc-car.jpg

then my second car was a tmaxx it was really fun!!!!

then igot an electric stampede just to try electric it was also very fun but the speed didnt really compare to the nitros but it never breaks hardly, only thing i broke was the steering servo thats it so when my gas powered trucks are getting worked on i pull out the stampede it is kind of like my beater car!!!!!!!!

now i just order an impact m2 4wd cause i have heard nothing but good things about serpents except the parts avaliabilty is small, but i can just use another car when waiting for a part and if your a good driver its hard to break an on road car, after all it was only $300.00 and it came with alot of extra parts and tires with a brand new novarossi cx .15 'big bock' motor and has an aluminum tuned pipe, i cant wait to open it on christmas ,my grandma brought it for me , I cant afford all these cars iam only fifteen and dont have a job yet so either my mom or my grandma buys the cars for me and my mom drives me and hour every weekend to a hobby shop up in virginia beach virginia, cause they dont have one in elizabeth city north carolina, pathectic haaaa!!!!!!!

In 1991 (I was 18), my dad picked me up an RC10 Basic for Christmas. It came with everything, garbage motor, bushings, mechanical speed controller. Bearings, ESC, and modified motor and that thing ripped.

I believe I might still have it, though it needs a few parts. If I do have it, I'm going to put it all back together for my 4 year old to drive.

I first got into Nitro RC in March. I purchased a Duratrax Maximum ST... oh wait you said "real RC" car. That would have to be my 1/8th scale buggy. It's a Hot Bodies Lightning Pro. It's great and hard to break. It's been lots of fun. Next season, I hope to get a better engine and get serious about racing at the local track.

Jeez, Not all at one time (I wheeled and dealed A LOT) but I had a Grasshopper w/380, Boomerang, Optima, Big Bear, Midnight Pumpkin, RC-10 Graphite buggy growing up beginning around age 10-11 or so? My friends and I would trade back and forth over and over. I tried racing and was never too good- still ain't very good

After a ten year period of no RC action, I reentered Nitro and vintage RCs collection.

Now I have a Blackfoot, 1987 Clod Buster, Monster Beetle, Lunchbox, USA-1, Big Brute, Kyosho Hi Rider Vette,
Sportmaxx and XTM Xterminator. Actually, now that the nostalgia has worn off some and bills are piling up, I am selling
almost all of my vintage kits soon.

If anyone wants to relive their youth through one of these vintage kits above, let me know!

I'm still a novice since I purchased my first R/C car slightly less than one year ago. My first purchase was a T-Maxx unless you count a pre-owned Nikko that I sold after only a few runs. Perhaps, I should have stuck with that Nikko since it would have been much cheaper....
