Mark at RR is a PUNK! I seen what he did to finless over there at RunRyder so I'll never go back there again. finless bob is a bonifide T-Rex expert and can answer any question with the correct answer and give a solution to any problem and if he can't right away it don't take him long to get an answer or solution with the connections he has...he's a great asset to any forum and I'm glad to see him here...My hat's off to you finless...

Hey Bob,

I am in the process of building a TREX 450 XL (CCPM) and appreciate all the help your videos have given me. I am using a Hitec Eclipse 7 Tx with the 7 channel HF-08RD Tx, Phoenix 45 ESL, HS-65HB servos with a HS-61 for the tail rotor. I shoehorned an AON 2815-3500 into the motor bay, and having a little difficulty fitting and routing the electronics. The LiPo battery is massive (Impulse 3 cell 2100 ), the Rx is way too wide for the Rx bay and the ESL. Everything is dry fitted but as a total flingwing noob (Models anyhow) I could use some guidance as to the perils of electronics placement in my specific case

I have found a couple of ways to streamline the installation, but need the benfit of your experience.

1. Can I cut the motor wires down? I would like have it no more than 3 inches between the motor and ESL
2. Is it a problem mounting the Rx as shown?
3. Do you have any tips on the setup for the Eclipse Tx?

Oh, and by the way, as we are neighbors, I just have to ask........ You an Angels fan??

Thanks again for all the help, and maybe we can meet sometime, and I can buy you lunch

Hello Bob;

Thanks for such helpful videos; I built my first TREX only by watching those videos. 3 days ago; I lost control of my helis tail. It started to wobble; and I managed to bring it down from 15 feet upto 2 feet; and then it crashed.

I replaced and fix everything; but now the feathering shaft is bent; and I'm not sure how to repair it. Should I just buy the feathering shaft? or is there any other thing I need to buy; bearning, etc...

btw, I have a TREX SE V1.

Here's a pic of how my repair is gone so far;

Hello Bob;

I fixed my TREX; the ruddler works as indicated in your video setting up the 401 gyro. When I'm hovering; the tail is steady; however; if I input too much ruddler; the tail starts to wobble.

What I'm doing wrong??

I also have a 450 XL CCPM but can't seem to find that particular video on Bob's page at Helifreak.

Is it gone becaus the heli is "older"?

Please help.

My small issues are the following:

- I am not able to get one of the servos to be fully vertical (parallel to the main shaft), is this a huge deal?

- I am using the center hole which doesn't make the linkages parallel to the ground, is this an issue?

- Whenever I am moving the stick somewhat quickly between position 2 to 3-4, the heli is wanting to rotate counter clockwise. The gain on the Gyro is set at about 60%.

I am running hs 55 servos all around along with GY 240 gyro.

Any advice?

Run Ryder no longer allows Bob to have his video's there. I'm not going to get into the reasons, but now they are all at helifreak. Here's the link to the trex 450 videos: http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=11373

They are without a doubt the best things to watch for the TREX 450!

Bob, Your videos have been great. Like having a mentor in the shop to help as I build mine. My step I need help with now... I have to velcro the battery and receiver tapes in. What kind of glue do you use so the hook portion doesn't pull off each time you change the battery? Thanks again for a GREAT service to all of us.

Also, consider this an invitation to come fly with us in South Florida! Doc
