Status: offline 		Everyone has there own preferences. I have seen both types of RCV engines run at our field, owned by the same guy, myself and other club members aren't terribly impressed with them. What type of 83 inch bird is it with the 180?

Status: offline 		there are 2 types of rcv engine, we use the 91cd, it has been proven to be a superb power unit, and is fitted to every warbird prototype you have seen in video, no special cooling is required, and no cylinder head sticks out the bottom, the 91cd is the same height as an os52 surpass!!! engine has been 100% succesfull, only reported problmes have been the need to locktite the carb securing bolt, cant WAIT for the 120!!!!!

one thing about fitting the bigger motor, one of the bigger groupner 3 blade props will look GREAT!

Status: offline 		What type of RCV's where they using, the ones I use and the ones used in the prototypes are the CD version which is in standard model aircraft format. If people have problems it tends to be fuel or plug, 10% nitro 15-18% and an OS F plug usually sorts any problems. Any way each to their own.

Status: offline 		The 2 rcv engines i have seen is the 58cd, and the 60sp, im not sure the particulars of the set up, but to me both sounded like a rattletrap and seemed to not have the best of power. That is just my personal opinion. You know how it is, when a person set on a brand they like, it is hard to get them to change. We have guys that only buy os, guys that only go enya, and myself, pretty much only Saito for 4 stroke power, and os for 2 stroke power. But back to the building, i joinied the wing halves tonight, looking good. I build the fuse first, then did the wings. Just have to align the wing to the fuse, align the horizontal tail and install it, the ruder, excetera, probably about 75% done now. But going away this weekend for family events, and a busy work week next week will probably keep me from working on it much for the next week or so. Oh well, won't be doing much flying for another month or so anyway with the field needing to dry as always.

Status: offline 		I just measured the wheel diameter of a 1/48 scale Tamiya Bf109E-4 with a digital caliper, and it turned out to be 0.528". So based on my calculation, scale wheel size for this plane is around 4.7" in diameter. A pair of Glennis 4 1/2" ME-109 '6 spoke' with German style tread will work just fine, provided that I have sufficient room on the wing to enlarge the wheel wells to around 4 3/4".

Status: offline 		Flew the 109 again in far from ideal conditions. blustery. Since last week I have repositioned d the battery, moved in back by the fuel tank and added more lead. I now have 1 1/4lb lead bolted to the engine mount. This has given me a flying weight of about 13lbs, this time take off was smooth, level flight needed two clicks of up and landing nice steady decent even in a strong blustery wind. CG is now at 96mm from leading edge. I would recommend 96mm to 104mm, not the 116mm stated in the instructions, flyable but not comfortable.

Status: offline 		kinverflyer, Thanks for your C/G input. Are these ARF manufactures ever going to get the C/G correct? Did anyone
else have the same problem? I am about to install a battery tray for lipolys and this information is needed to place it in the correct place to get my C/G where it needs to be. Some more input on C/G with the new ME 109 would be great. Thanks guys!

Status: offline 		cg is 116mm my me 109 have a os 1.20 fs , i have 5 ounces of nose weight i use a heavy prop nut drilled it out and used as a adaptor for my spinner.


das robart have the oleo struts in stock for the me109
