Thanks for that info. i know the KMP models are very expensive, but good. We are just building up the willhobby 190. It cost me 150$. AS you mentioned, i like the 109 to be similar in size as our 190, hence the Kyosho might not work for us. i had written to CMP but to no avail. Jesus from Spain referred to nice Spanish ARF 109, but with the exchange rate due to our Peso, this will cost over $600 after shipping....
I wrote to the other link you sent me. Will see what comes out of it. Shipping can be a real b*^%#@ and pricey too...

Cheers,
Andreas

Still available in Spain:

http://www.aeroglow.es/aeromodelos.htm

It cost 350 euros -including retracts- plus shippment. I think they also still have some original 109 alluminiun spinners. Model shop owner's name is Angel - a very serious and dependable guy- and you may contact him via email at info@aeroglow.es. Please, remember to let him now I directed you to his firm.

Best Regards,

Jesus Cardin

Jesus,

this looks like a beautiful plane. But with our weak $ it would cost over 650$ by the time it is shipped here.... Thanks for the pointer though

Andreas

Thanks for your comments, my friends, and I fully understand the trouble with the euro/dollar change rate: now it is a best moment for europeans buying from USA rather than the other side.

Anyway a pair of notes: the model is just the ESM/KMP/YT Me 109, not a local made RTF as due to far east labour costs even for Spain it is just impossible to be competitive making this kind of models. Secondly, it is perhaps still interesting for europans modelers as well as for the russian mate asking for it as net price is quite similar to that offered previously by KMP and YT International and then shipping within continental Europe sure is lower than bringing a model from Canada for sure.

In fact shipping is today the major limiting factor for buying more abroad (apart home credits, of course) as if not I should have already ordered on new KMP FW 190. I think I will have to wait till the Spanish firm Aeroglow gets it at October end or beginning November.

Best Regards,

Jesus Cardin

New Spinners for the Emil

I have found a vendor who will be able to produce a spinner for the 109. The price is depending on the total amount of spinners being ordered estimated at $60-$80 e.a. The spinner will be modified to accommodate the short TruTurn jam nut assembly. Also, the spinner will not be polished for easy painting. Overall dimensions equally to the KMP spinner with exception of the spinner backplate which will be thicker.

Please email me for possible orders/inquiries.

I found a good looking semi scale wheels to suit 109
they can be later modified by BT plans for scale ones

this is only from camera phone picture, in real word they look better
and the best on the end - price was about 4USD

Luxuswaffe: spinners interesting
I would be interested, but what about E-7 version?

Hello Vik:

Nice wheels at a great price. The KMP Typhoon wheels also fit in the 109 wells.

I am working on pre-E7 spinners. According to my sources, the only difference is that the E7 spinner was closing off the cannon hole with a little cone.

I did it yes. Though not exactly show scale, its still a full ckpit with dials and such on the dash.

Ok, the first pic shows the bottom of the cockpit floor where the pilots rear is resting on. Pushrod tubes are ran under this.
2nd pic shows servo tray I created and added above the kit servo tray you can see below it. That tray has the air valve and servo to actuate the retract. It also houses two extra small airtank vessels from robart seen in the last pic.

The throttle servo, elevator and rudder servos are located in this new servo tray which is held in place by 4 screws onto wood rails I epoxied to the side of the fuse. I used 48" long pushrods from Dubro to get from these servos to the control horns isntead of using the wood dowel approach. This allows a gradual bend of the pushrod to go over the cockpit floor and then route to the horns. The tubes are epoxied in a couple places within the fuse to prevent them from deforming when the servo moves.

Many thanks.

So its possible to keep the servos up to the front end. Glad about that.

I have a scale cockpit from Balsa, to put in.

All I need now is the courage to start and a good scale drawing of a tropical air filter.

Many thanks again

Phil

Theres a thread at RCMF about the YT/KMP Me-109 and someone in there did the tropical filter and outlined all he did to do it. Take a look and I bet you'll find what you need. You might also try searching through the numerous pictures for BF-109 at www.airliners.net.
Here's a picture of one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messerschmitt_Bf_109
