Her are some views of Seirra retract I used. They are made specificaly for this 109 and drop right in.I did build up the rear rail to cant the gear slightly forward to help prevent noseovers. These worked out great! Hope this helps you with your choice of landing gear.

Here is the gear covers I made out of aluminum, they can be shaped to completely close against the wells. Also pictured is a tailwheel Seirra makes. It was for a larger scale plane but can easily be scaled down for the 109.It works flawless with pull/pull along w/the rudder.

I ran mine out of fuel one time after 9 1/2 mins. But, I tend to fly my planes fast. I could never get my 180's to run very good with medium fuel tubing and/or a regular size clunk. I have 4 180's and mine all need large fuel tubing, clunk and other plumbing. I do however use medium tubing for the pressure line otherwise keeping the tubing connected to the muffler is a problem. Large tubing used for fuel intake I think should also be connected to the carb and zip tied to keep it in place.

I use only Curtis Youngblood 30% fuel in mine also so that may have something to do with it.

I also use the large fuel tubing and clunk. I otherwise could not get it to run properly at full thottle and had issues with it being too lean. I also have the 18oz tank and keep the timer at 7 min. It jsut gives me insurance. The 180 is a great match. I always wonder what the YS140 would be like. I hear is is similar to the 180.

The tail wheel is internally controlled by a pushrod from the rudder servo and not from the rudder itself as shown in the manual. Now that the plane is together, I cannot get to it at all unless I removed everything from inside of the fuse. Im not going to do that as it was hard enough to remove the old air valve for the stock spring down retracts in order to replace with an air up/air down valve. I had to remove my custom servo tran and all the hook ups, etc, etc, etc. Finally got it all back together today

I will keep that tail wheel setup in mind though for the CMP ME-109

Those retract look great.I will contact Seirra when i am ready to buy retracts and see what it takes to come over here.If it is complicated i will try to find Robarts. But are the 532rs close just like any other or they close toward the fuse lage as p47,p51 etc did?

For the robart 532RS, the air cylinder is pointing towards the fuse thus why its labeled as reverse since most retracts have the air cylinder pointing to the wing tip. The gear itself will close(retract) towards the wing tip.

Any normal retract can be used in either fashion...meaning...can be used in a P-51, P-47, etc....or an ME-109 or Spitfire that has the legs closing outwards. its simply a matter of which way the retract is mounted in the wing. If doing P-51, a standard retract will have the air cylinder pointing towards fuse. They close to the fuse in this position. Swap it the other way around and have the air cylinder pointing towards wingtip, and it simply closes towards wing tip. This is true of all standard type retracts. Reverse style are just that...setup with the air cylinder pointing one way, and the legs retracting the other way.

German27,

First thing is to have the pictures that you want to post under 100 kb in size (I use PhotoRazor, http://www.stormdance.net/ , it makes resizing painless). Then hit the reply button in the upper right corner of the post you want to reply to (another window will open). Don't use the “post reply” at the bottom left or the “fast reply underneath”. Type your message and click on the lower left to upload pictures. Another window will open that will allow up to browse your files and choose the picture you want. Don't load more than 100 kb at a time; you will get a "File Too Large" message (at least I do with dial up). As the pictures load, you will get a "Files Loaded Successfully" message (you won't see any pictures until later). You can load multiple times to get all your pictures loaded (until you run out of Browse buttons). Once you have your pictures loaded, hit the "OK" button below and your post and pictures will upload. If you make a mistake you can edit and fix them. Another trick is to type your post up in word processing and copy and paste to the reply box.

Great paint colors on the fuse! Looks great. How much does the tail gear assembly with the pull pull cables weigh? Just wanted to compare with the stock setup. Thanks!

German27,

Don't use the “post reply” at the bottom left...

Umm why? Clicking that button opens up the exact same window/page as does clicking the tiny Reply at the top right of any post. In either case, you still must click the "Click here to upload images and files" below where you enter your text for your message.
The quick reply is the only one that doesnt allow you to upload pictures

kahloq,

In the past, I could not load pictures from the lower left button, just the upper right one and it has become habit now. Maybe it was a glitch in the system that has been fixed by RCU.

About 1.5oz.It was a little more but it will be worth it in the end.I'm using 3 batteries w/smoke so balancing was done without adding lead.
