Oh and about KMP.
I talked to Andrew Kondor himself at the booth at WRAM. He didn't know it was me talking to him, but he did confirm they were redoing the Fw 190 as well with an improved fuse! Looks like all my whining and complaining did work. The guy was selling his three-bladed props like a total mad man.

Scaleman,
It's looking good, very good. Now take it outside to a dirt/grass field (weather permitting) and take some more pictures in B & W and it will be hard to tell from the real thing (the shop gave it away).

First of all, I fly at 5,000 ft above sea level and I have a YS 140 sport I want to use in this 109. Can anyone recommend a motor mount that does not require more modifications than I can deal with? Scaleman that plane is a masterpiece. I don't know how anyone could arrive at that level of accomplishment. I have just started trying to fly taildraggers and it's been an expensive effort so far. Way more crashes than I care to admit. Anyhow, any suggestions on a motor mount. Thanks ed

I assume the YS uses a standard 4 stroke type motor mount yes? On my saito 180, I used an adjustable mount like this one: It is adjustable and you can slide the motor forward or back to fit where the prop should be relative to the cowl. It says it can fit up to a 150 size 4 stroke. I use these with saito 125 or lower. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=HAN2033
This is the mount I used for my saito 180. Its actualyl slightly cheapr, but works the same way as the the above one. The side rails are thicker as well and it fit my 180 with no problems. I ahd originally got it to go with the saito 125, but the side rails were a little too thick for the screw holes in the motor itself to line up through the sliding slot area, so I did grind down one side of each mount piece. I dont think that problem would have been there had I got it for the 180 as its a bigger motor. This one will definitely fit bigger motors, even though its listed as 1.20. Since I know it works for a saito 180, I'd use it on a satio 220 without hesitation. BTW, the satio 180 with this motor mount is installed in my KMP ME-109 http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=SEA2109
Not sure how a YS 140 is mounted, but ehre is my 180 on the above motor mount

Here's mine...I picked it up used here on RCU. It's not in the best of shape and I plan to eventually redo the paint at a minumum. This video shows an engine test with the Supertigre 2300 in it, but no matter what I did, I couldn't get that engine to run properly. I've since taken the engine out and puting in a Roto 25CC gasoline engine. I'm hoping it'll be a good match for her: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaMH5L9KHQ4
WOW indeed, just shows, my boast of a blank canvas gives you an airplane of your dreams, get an artist like Dave involved, and stnners like this are the result
well done Dave, look forward to the next one you get from the new crop of fighters about to hit our shores

Not my personal favorite color scheme but, you did a great job replicating it.
I think KMP is getting a little carried away with the prices of the new warbirds coming out. They are basically re-issuing the 109 with a diffferent paint scheme for $100.00 (US) more. The website gives no real detail as to what the extra $100.00 is for. New retracts? Are they the same garbage that were in the earlier kits? I have 2 sets from both of my 109's in a box waiting for a plane. The website is sparse on any information regarding improvements and or options. They should at least post pics of the upgraded parts like retracts to convince buyers that they actually did improve on the complaints of the other items e.g. retracts that cost $200.00 that are as useless as tilts on a boar.
