Hello Serge,
I think its okay to fly.My retracts having the same problem, because I have changed it from 90 degrees to 80 degrees.
So the wheels will come into the wing a little bit deeper.
Here the original from Kit and then the changed retracts.Looks more Scale and will having better starts and,
I hope so, better landings.

Maiden flight should be on Sunday or Monday, but I think there will be very rainy and stormy weather.

I guess the guys at YT are going to have scale wheels made for the hurri, spit, and 109 and will be available on this side of the Atlantic. Not sure when but maybe Alan can fill us in on that.

no details of availability yet, but will keep you informed,

as for the retracts shimmed to 80degrees, the correct angle is 85, try them at that angle, they will move further into the well, and may lock, i would think that in negative G manoveres, they would sag, but would go back up when straight and level

Just got my 109 last night, did a quick look and it's nice. Was wondering if anyone felt the need for any beefing up in the nose for the bigger saito, more fiberglass, ply crutch etc. This is my first fiberglass fuse and want to keep from twist, crack, depart scene. Any one check out the new OS 120? Say it's the size of a 90 with more power, may fit in the cowl better for a more scale look, should be enough power and those fins should keep things cool.

Hello Serge,

I think mine will also hold up by flying. What did you have done with the landing gears?

I make two new ones from 4mm aluminium and form near to the wings.
Also I have changed the tail wheel and placed it a little bit further.
It's looking scaler and better.

@alan
Sorry, I was wrong, the angle is now ca.85"

I've heard conflicting reports on the retract angle. Ian said it's 80-deg. If it's really 85 degrees, then I can use any 85-deg air retracts.

i took a head on three view, and scaled it, i could be wrong, but i will check with ian next week, he is away all weekend, flying off the same runway our first eurofighter tyhpoon squadron uses, lucky lad! but i dont think 85degrees would look that bad, if the leg locks at 85, go for it!!

I don't think modifying the stock retracts for 85° operation is difficult. When I had mine apart after my Spitfire crashed I looked at how to do it and it's just a matter of filing one face of the rotating block and putting a sleeve over a spacer.

Hello everybody,
now on Saturday the weather is stormy and I think Sunday or Monday it will be raining.
So the Maiden flight will be next week.

Here some pictures from break-in of the laser 120
