Mines about 75% done as of now. Going to be ready for the spring time.

You still have time to build one, you always have time. Do you have the resources/money? Maybe an old airplane could be donner parts

Go into your garage or look around the house for something that will float. O.K. ? Good ! Now put an engine with a propeller on it, hook it up to your servos, and see if it goes. If not, come back here and ask questions. We need pics or vids though.

That's a great way to start! I've seen them made of boogie boards, soda bottles, plastic storage bins, flat sheets of foam, plastic or styrofoam meat trays , you name it...

Give it a shot

you know what!!!!!..... Thats what i love about Air boats.
it doesn't really mater if your first Air boat is slow as a snail.
my first air boat (fragile) was made out of cardboard just so i could get use to
the frame work off my real wood one that I'm planing on making, but than i decided the
make it electric just for fun,
It was slow as hell, but hay i had heps of fun making it,

good luck

ok guys thanks for the replies,,, just came back from bashing trucks again in the same place, the flood water still high and still thinking of airboat,,,i can't resist the temptation to go to the water so i tried running the monster truck in the puddle until it went to a deeper side that the air filter got soak and engine stall but after drying it a little the engine fired up and the electronics is fine,,kinda scary though ,,so the verdict is: i'm goin to build an airboat from scratch and the cheapest , i prefer nitro engine but i don't want to spend at this time so...here's what i got:

1) johnson motor
2) tx n' rx
3) couple of 7.2 v batt

i'm looking for styrofoam and what kind of ESC do i need for this kind of motor?
