got a gal of 20% Trinity Monster Fuel for the T-Maxx'. i dont run evey day, so i have had the gallon of nitro about 30 or so days now. its almost gone, maybe 3 to 5 tanks left... when i first bought/opened the gallon, the color was a nice clear purple, fairly dark. now its almost gone, and it s piss brown with some purple tint if looked at with light behind it..
Is this fuel just crap.. for the 1/2 half the gallon, me and my neighbors trucks ran well, but started to have idleing/running issues. i never bothered to think the Monster Fuel was bad. but now my neighbor got a gal of Traxxas Fuel for the Trucks, his engine is now running ALOT better, but im still haveing probs with mine. hes on the Traxxas im still finishing up the Monster. i too have a gal of the Traxxas fuel but have yet needed to open it.... do any of you have experience with the quality of this brownish crap left in my Nitro Fuel container?

i ve been reading on home brewing, and im very much likeing the idea of KNOWING exactly whats in my fuel and that it hasnt sat on a shelf for 9 months. and the money savings overall is a Great Bonus to boot. but back to the matter at hand

How good is Monster Fuel.. is it Titabawassee pisswater? is it ok, good? great, best you can throw your money away on for branded fuel??
what say you?

Tim

Tim, please don't start making your own fuel. Sounds like yours has gone bad from being left open too much. If you have problems with gallons before they are empty in a month, by making your own you are just setting yourself up for bigger problems.

bottle was never left open. only time the bottle was open was when filling the qrt squeeze bottle. other than that, tightly capped and in the shed...
im in michigan and weather this time of yr is all over the scale. 62 and beautiful one day. 22 and a foot of snow the next...
which is why i have not been able to use it as much. now the weather is supposed to be better from here on out, so the nitro consumption will be greater....
Im 39 yrs old, so i dont think mixing my own fuel will be too hard or problamatic...

i understand where your coming from Bent, but the fuel didnt go bad due to user error. i dont even know that it is bad, it could be strictly due to the fact its near the bottom of the gallon, thus the color will change slightly do to less volume> i dont know, i dont konw Trinity Moster Fuel, thus the reason for my initial question...

Is it good fuel or is is skunkwater?
Tim

byw, today i started out with the traxxas fuel and left the remainder of the TMF in the jug.. i got the truck started rather easily, had to make a small tuning adjustment and it ran pretty much all day with out too much of a problem. unless you count the 25 foot pine tree than ran out infront of my truck this evening and broke my front A Arms.. both sides... i might toss a gal of the TMF in the truck tomorrow, but doubt it, i ll run my 2nd maxx which yesterday i was haveing probs while using the TMF, it wouldnt idle out well and stalling regardless of rich or lean settings.... i ll run some of the Traxxas stuff and see how it does. if it runs fine, then i ll know it was the fuel. it its out of wack still after the 1st 5 minutes. adn i have to retune it, then the TMF may be ok, but i doubt it. Somethings saying bad fuel to me...

Yep, them trees will sneak out on you every time, concrete blocks have done it to me in the past so watch out for them also.

Not a lot of folks run Trinity fuel around here due to the LHS's not stocking it. From what I have seen in other areas people seem to be pretty pleased with it. That said, every major fuel blender has put out a bad gallon or two (or more). From your first description it sounded like the top didn't get put back on and you had both an evaporation problem and a moisture problem. Glad another fuel cleared the problem up.
