Hey guys, I was on UK F3D site and saw a couple things that I can't find on the internet. Could someone please help.
1. First, does anyone know where to get these retracts with carbon door and skinny wheels?
2. Notice the wheels in the third pic that actually have some rubber on them. I want some "give" if I land hard. I already got the wheels from Darrol Cady and they have a little rubber that could help grip with a strong crosswind but they won't do much if I land crapily. Thanks in advance, Erik

Those look very similar to the old Kraft slim line wheels. Check on ebay for "Kraft" and you may find some there. I have seen them from time to time.

Not sure about the retracts, but the wheels (with rubber) look similar to the Slimline wheels you can get at www.darrolcady.com

Not sure if you got to read through my whole post Dave. On your recommendation I got the set of wheels from Darrol Cady. They do have a bit of rubber, but it is very little. I was looking to find something like the picture on the right with a bit more rubber. Thanks again, Erik.

I actually found "FAI Retracts" on Lyles new site. I think they are the same as the photo, now I just need those carbon fiber doors, Thanks, Erik.

Lyle should sell them. You really want to make sure that you get the new style. The way to tell that, is the "slide bar" should be "round" and not "squard"... In a F3D plane the square slid bar's would bend fairly easily, causing constant maintenance.

Stick to fixed gear. DeChastel sells some carbon struts for his FAI... much less headache.

If you're looking for wheels with some give to help with not so perfect landings, then you probably won't have good luck with those retracts. Most of the guys that run retracts in F3D leave them up for landing and belly land in grass. As far as wheels, the ones on the fixed gear in the pic look almost like the Williams Brother's smooth contour wheels.
