Hello folks. Nice to see birds of the same feather so to speak. Don Stegall found a needle in a haystack and suggested posting a picture for comments.

This is my version of a quick build P-51B scale pylon racer. It as a 31" inch wingspan and uses a stock speed-400 and the same 3 channel radio equipment as a Zagi. But at only 16oz total flying weight, it's faster and much more agile.

Any comments?

Regards,

Yes ... sort of.

It's pink foam with 3/4 oz glass cloth secured with Varithane water-based polyurethane. It has a carbon fiber leading edge on the wing.

The fuselage is molded pink foam and partially assembled.

Check out the web site at Seriously Fun Models.

I haven't seen one in person yet, but it looks interesting, especially if you can actually build one in the stated 8-10 hours, and it will hold up to some Speed 400 pylon racing.

There are four different models.

The construction is 90% medium density extruded foam with laser cut light plywood and balsa tail feathers. Graphite rods protect the entire leading edge from grass, sticks, bushes, and trees.

It's very quick to build but more importantly easy to maintain and repair. All the aileron and elevator control horns along with the graphite rods, motor screws and fiberglass cloth are included with each kit.

The wings are C.N.C. hot wire cut with a 12% Clark-Y airfoil and require very little preparation. The fuselage is 80% pre-shaped and takes about 45 minutes to sand to shape.

You will spend more time choosing a colour and detailing the aircraft than actual building time.

I hope to have a Mustang for review here for all to see what's inside the kit. *peers over at Don for a positive nod*

My other business is requiring me to leave town for a week with no internet access so I hope to answer your posts when I return. See everyone on Feb 1.

Ken, you forgot some of the most important for racing: pylons, planes, and pilots.

I first saw the ad for these in the new MAN in the Sky Hooks & Rigging ad.

EAM - Electric Aero Modeling U.S.A has them listed also.

I thank you kindly Bill. Gotta love the internet for finding these colour schemes. I know of a team of 10 Mustangs somewhere in California already racing these warbirds in various colours.

Best regards,
