I want to get a T rex before too long, but right now I guess I need a 4 in 1 unit. My VNR3D flies great, but the BCP is more my speed right now. I can hover the NR3d great, but it's too wild for inside the house. It gets pretty ugly for the first 5 seconds until I get use to the sensitive controls, and thats when it attacks furniture. The BCP is so much easier to fly inside.

Dennis,

Do your best to hang in there with it brother. I am in Iraq and am learning on a BCP. I am having the time of my life with this thing, however I have to admit that I have gone through a lot, and I mean A LOT if main blades. I didn't see it, but do you have heatsinks installed on your two motors? If not, you may want to get some. If so, make sure that you use a heatsink paste between them. I have been learning for a while now, and I never had a problem with my motors as of yet. I just got the plastic blades in the mail and haven't tried them yet, but what I hear of them, they work very well. Can't wait to give them a go. Flying helo's is a blast as you probably know already.

Let us all know how the new motors hold up.

Chris

Yep, got the heat sinks, and the silicone heat transfer grease... I stayed up so I can cll Horizon Hobby's and see if they will warrantee the 4 in 1 unit. It appears to be the culprit causing my tail woe's. Gunna call them right now... I think it's 8am there now...

Dennis,
I know just how you feel, I have been trying to learn for almost 2 years although I must admit that I am spread a little thin between hobbies. I have a trashed Feda Dragonfly, an Esky Honey Bee, and a Corona 120, all 3 of them are fixed pitch, but none of them have ever been in the air long enough to go through a full battery. Finally I bought a Hirobo XRB SR, and I finally have a machine that I can actually have some fun with. I was hoping that one day I could buy a collective pitch bird and learn to fly it, but at this point, I am not going to waste any more money on anything but coaxial heli's. Good luck with whatever you decide to do, at least you have a great bike to cruise on to take your mind off the heli thing !!!

Dan

Im doin pretty good actually. I can hover whole charges with no problem, but I messed up my 4 in 1 gyro, and have to send it in to get a free replacement. They said sending it in was just a formality, and he said it was no problem, even though I had taken it apart looking for a broken trace or bad solder joint. Thats ok, I still have the VNR3D, and I can still keep up on my practice. The VNR3D is just real touchy and like power steering, so im gunna have to be extra careful... I decided to try a little forward flight with a turn, out in the driveway, and thats when it got ugly, and I crashed for the 10th time or so. Poor Blade CP.... Now I know what not to do anymore...

Dude, get a CX. Easy easy easy. Flew no handed the second day. Had friends who are crazy, and never touched an RC anything, fly it.

Thats too easy (Blade CX)... Im doin good so far, not crashing too often now, and can hover full packs with no problem. I even hover my VNR3D in the living room, so that should tell you something. Im going to get a T rex or similar quality heli soon. The CX would be way too easy for me at this point, I've already come this far. My BCP needs a 4 in 1, so Im stuck flyin the wild one for 2 weeks. Thats ok, it's better practice anyway...
