Hello

I recently purchased a cheap digital video camera off of EBay. Despite the price, I am very impressed with the quality of video it can produce. I bought it so as to be able to take on board video with my electric helicopter. However, I am finding it next to impossible. The camera always shuts down within about 30 seconds of starting the video. At first I though it might be vibration related, but have since ruled it out by dismounting the camera and recording in close proximity with the same results. Of course the camera works fine with the helicopter powered down and removed from the situation.
I am left to assume that is must be radio frequency interference of some sort. Does anyone know of a light way to shield digital devices from intereference? I've been trying to shield the camera with aluminum tape with no luck.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Brett

I don't thing RF would be the culprit. IF it were, you wouldn't be able to shoot video from the ground while standing next to the Tx. I would take another look at vibrations

Thanks for the responce. I probably wasn't clear in my original post but in my mind I have ruled out vibrations. One way I troubleshot the situation was to try and record with the heli spooled up and the camera placed about 4 inches away. During that test the camera shut itself off. Of course vibration couldn't of been the culprit because the camera wasn't connected to the airframe in any manner.

It is RF coming from the ESC/motor. Best you can do is run the ESC cables through a ferrite ring to form an RF choke.
