Fabric may be a bit more work than iron on coverings but you just can't beat the results. I also love the fact that it won't start sagging over time or when the plane sits in the hot sun for a while.

Be careful about allowing the plane to sit in the hot sun (unprotected). Keep it covered with a towel, or better keep it under your Easy-Up. The newer radio systems are very heat sensitive, and some will go into fail safe mode at a fairly low temperature. Others will simply not power up when the temperature in the fuselage gets too high.

Is it just me, or are these %##@**&^% radio's getting harder and harder to figure out? I'm trying to program a specific mix program, and It's fighting me. I'll win or drop kick the thing.

Bill,
I know what you mean about radios I am trying to learn how to program my new 7C radio, but I am slowly getting it figured out maybe by the time I get the waco finished I'll have the radio figured out.

I used to have a 7C, and as far as I'm concerned, it was the most maddening radio to try and program I've ever seen. This 9303 makes me wish I'd gotten an EE degree. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Sunday, May 18, 2008. Got the WACO back in the air, not once but twice. I was very fortunate that one of our very experienced members gave me an assist this time out. The plane flys very well with the Saito 150, very scale like. The first landing Dean made was on the pavement, he just greased it right down. The second landing I made, which was smooth, but I also landed it in the grass. I suspect my landings will continue to be in the grass until I get comfortable with the plane. I am attaching some photos, this has been a long time coming.

What a great plane . Who makes it? I was looking at a Sportsman Aviation Waco dose anyone know anything about this ARF? Would this be a good first bi-plane? Thanks for your help.

Ron,

I have seen the Sportsman Aviation version. I would not reccomend it (or any Waco) for your first Biplane. Something like the Sig Hog Bipe would assure you of a more probable success story.

Jim,
Excellent as in Sweeeeeet . Miss Barbee can truely be happy now .

All fun aside that is great news. After all that work and a long winter you must be releived that it flys the way you want. Did you have to move the CG much. Did the new landing gear seem to make a difference.

Most of all Jim, It looks really good.
