Not a lot bigger. Much of the feel of a bigger plane comes from the longer fuselage which reacts more slowly to rudder and elevator inputs. Ths Cap fuse is lengthened from scale, and it's really long for an 85" plane.

This is why it's so stable, it feels like you are flying a much larger plane. It's more like a clipped wing 95" Cap.

Watch the Chip Hyde double vision fly some time, its fuse is super long for the wingspan and it flies like a much larger plane.

Yep, as mstroh said, I was about to touch down and then there was a large crosswind gust. It caused the plane to roll to the right a little bit (as was expected) and there just wasn't enough friction in one wheel to keep it from moving side to side. So the right wheel ended up in some tall grass on the side of the runway that needs to be mowed. Didn't do too much damage though, just had to fix a pant and bend the gear back. There is no structural damage in the fuse or wings.

Well, I got some flights on the CAP this weekend and this thing does amazing harriers. One guy at the field even commented on how stable it was in the harrier. The wings rock a little when you're entering it, but you just slowly add some power and it stops. I am totally impressed with them and I'm by no means that spectacular of a pilot. This plane literally had it's nose about 70 degrees or so in the air and it just needed a little aileron in the turns to maintain stability. I could literally harrier around for a full 10 minutes no sweat.

That's awesome, Ben! Sorry I'm in a little late on ths one, but I just ordered mine Friday. so I've been reading this thread and getting all excited. i actually cleaned the bench off today in anticipation of getting started. I've got the original Extra special. Its been wonderful, but is getting a bit long in the tooth (I fly a lot). I can't wait to get going on the CAP!

If you like the Extra Special, you will love the CAP. I had a little bit of wing rock in harrier at the beginning, but that was because my servos were off. Now I have them dead nuts on thanks to the Hitec servo programmer. That thing is worth it's weight in gold.

It sure is. THe Extra Special harriers well, but it will rock if you don't stay on it. I used to have a big CAP and it was on rails in harrier, so I'm stoked. Funny how I decided to get this plane: the local EAA is having a full scale airshow in July and they wanted an RC aerobatics demo. I guess its my turn. So I figured, I ought to at least fly something pretty. So I called Tom, kind of fishing around about the CAP and he says,"treat yourself!" That was it. credit card out of wallet, end of story!

I'm not that good yet. I have another pilot lined up to do demonstration video for Tom. He can do them and with as stable as this plane is, he should have no trouble doing a harrier landing to. He does them with his 40% Carden CAP and this plane seems to be even more stable than that.

I can do a good rolling harrier in both directions. As soon as I get mine I'll let you know. One thing that really helps with this move is to mix out coupling. To get it to look smooth and controlled you need pure response from your control inputs. I'm sure the CAP will be capable of great rolling harriers.

yeah i think it does a pretty good job, not as good as a mid wing but somewhat close. mine only needed a little bit of rudd-ele (up) mixing and it was perfect.

Hrmm maybe an all red one to match my 40% Carden Cap. Im sure it will do rollers/ rolling harriers just fine.
