Hi, what pitch are you guys using on your raptor 30s V2 with O.S. 32 motors? I am currently using -+10 and didn’t know if this was to much. I haven’t been flying for long and am only at the large circuit/ figure of eight stage but am thinking about trying some limited aeros soon.

Thanks

I'm running 8.5 degrees +/- on my raptor 30 with a OS32 engine. I think its ideal to run 10 or so, but with the 32 size engine, it makes it hard. My helicopter still flys fine with 8.5 though.

-10 I TOO MUCH UNLESS YOU ARE FLYING SWICHLESS INVERTED . -5 TO -5.5 IS PLENTY FOR AN AUTO AND MAYBE +11 OR 12 FOR THE FLARE OUT .

BTW ... your CAPS LOCK KEY is stuck.

Here's how I did mine.
First set hover pitch (+6° on the R30) where you want it to be on the stick (usually mid-stick for beginners) via the pitch curve.
Then adjust the power (throttle) curve so that you maintain a hover at the designated hover stick position.
If the heli settles/descends at that stick position then increase the power setting at that position.
If the heli climbs at that stick position then decrease the power setting at that position

To set top pitch:
Set power curve so that you have full throttle at 100% stick position.
Do many, many full power climb outs.
If the engine bogs and starts to loose rpm, decrease the pitch setting at full stick.
If the engine revs up, then increase the pitch at full stick.
When set properly, you will perceive little to no RPM change from hover to full stick.

So ...
at hover you fix the hover pitch and adjust the power to get a hover.
at full power you fix the power to 100% and adjust the pitch to maintain a constant RPM.

Finally ... for an OS32 ... you probably won't be able to push 10° of pitch. Mine ended up around 8.5° (9° on a good day).
You'll figure it out by doing the full power climb outs. If you are a beginner and are not up to the climb outs then set the pitch around 9°. That'll be good enough to learn on and you can always go back and adjust it later if you find your engine has a little more (or less)punch than usual.

Good Luck,

Thanks for the info guys. When reducing the pitch from say 10 to 9 should this be done mechanically or can I change the ATVs? As its set at +-10 it would just be a case of reducing each side equally.

You will still need the +10 (or more) for autorotations so you need as much mechanical pitch as you can get. Your ATV's are going to define the next limit ... so again you need as much as possible (pitch that is).

Your pitch curve defines the flight mode limits within the limits of ATVs (100% on the curve = ATV max) so to reduce the top end pitch, just change the top end on your pitch curves (normal and idle ups).

Good Luck,
