I got 10mm wide aluminium hexes on both my Willy's and on one I got the WR02 universals.
I found the hexes in the bay.

Yeah, they should just have left that thing out.
And it looks one piece / attached to the body.
Also noticed they used bigger diameter rear rims.
This will probably be the most unpopular WR02 body to date.
I know I don't like it. What were they thinking?

Seller Izrc just replied, he has them in silver for the same price.
Me thinks I'll be placing an order for a set.

Try getting some paddles for the rear.
You can also use modelling clay to semi lock the diff.
Looks like Willy is freezing his butt!

Joel - what BL motor is that? Never seen one with the plugs jutting out the rear.
I know a couple of people with Willys. Let's get together for some bashing.
          Welcome to the Willy thread!

Merry Christmas Willy friends!

Have you guys seen Mad Modder's conversion using TL01 long arms on the Willy?
I invited him to share his conversion tips to widen our options.
Hope he joins us here.

It's not hard to fit them. The rears need no modification. For the front to convert it from the bearing in wheel design, it uses spare tl01 stub axles with another set of hex hubs, rear wheels and tires. Tamiya's non-driving axle stubs(9805502) will fit the front as well. They are used on the front of the Blackfoot Xtreme chassis and rear of the FWD M-chassis cars.

Hi everyone!  I am new to this forum but not to RC.

About 5 years ago I got back into RCs thanks to Tamiya's re-release programme and quickly joined Tamiyaclub.  For the last year or so I ahve been out of RC and have sold a lot of the stuff I acquired but the one car I would never sell is my Wild Willy - it's such a great little car.  I can't think of another car that I have so much fun with.

Anyway I dug out my Willy a week ago and have dusted it off and also spent a couple hours looking through this thread and thought I'd add a couple of pics of mine as I really love seeing everybody's different take, different colour schemes and stuff.

Here he is... I literally just fitted the Geolanders 10 minutes ago, I really love the way these tyres look on this car...

No they don't.  But they're 2.2 so they'll fit any other 2.2 truck wheels out there.

The Willy rims are 2.0 they same as the original Lunchbox/Pumpkin ones.

I used Blitzer wheels for the switch out because they are 2WD like the originals so no need for any axle mods at the front.
