Didn't see this coming . . . tamiya pulled a fast one . . .

The Unimog Wheelie (83419) . . . I like!

Looks like a Lunchbox chassis  . . . comes pre-painted in green yellow, blue or red.

And it's available at stellamodels.com for $155.

I know right?!

I was corresponding with CIMG4529 from tamiyablog.com about how he cut the rear bed to fit the Willy but somehow he never got around to showing the pics of how he did it from the image below. Yes, that's a Mini 4WD on the roof.

I thnk tamiya did not even shorten the rear bed in the new Wheelie.

your picture does not work..

you dont need to shorten the bed when you put the body on a lunchbox chassis.. that is what I did..

How is the image now?
This guy put it in a Willy chassis so he had to shorten it.

oooh that mad mog... lol yup shortened.. I think there is a how to somewhere on the web, but I guess you will have to cut, and paint on the outside.. ww2maniax on youtube has some wwunimog action too..

Tamiya used to have a page at its own website on converting a WW2 into a Willy's Wheeler (modern edition)..

Tamiya released a re-re of the Wheeler shell a few years ago, in very limited amount.. (I have one somewhere.. ha!) And then all you need are wheels/tires from their kids line model, some body mounts parts tree, and that's about it.. but obviously the hardest part is to source the shell..

At first from the pic, I thought the Farm King has the same front tires as the regular WW-2 and over-sized rear tires.. but it turned out that the front tires are 97mm unit (I think from TLT? Looks kind of like it).. so it has smaller front tires... ha!
