Airworld baby Cougar
Guys
After the success of my first AW Cougar EDF conversion, except the dolly system-I decided to have another go with retracts.
Micro Springair units fit with a little work, the only thing I really need is a FOD to stop stones going through the wheel openings, as these also go into the inlet ducts.
Lambert T32 as before.
I should fly it soon if the wind drops in the UK.

Is that the 1 1/2 Kg thrust Lambert? A friend has one in a foamy (Multiplex Twinjet) and I'm the hand launch volunteer (I suppose that's what he meant when he called me a tosser!) A superb little engine. - John.

Yes, They were flying one in a twin Jet at JetPower when I damaged my first Cougar.
Gear means no more dodgy launches!

He's a wake up to inconsistent launches too, he was showing me a bungy launch cradle plan today. He had to epoxy some carbon on the foam elevators as they were blowing flat at high speed, all good now. Question, how do you start it? There does not look to be enough space for the blower gadget, have you put an extension tube on it & push it through an inlet? - John.

Good move. Bungees are for securing plywood atop a car. Dollies are for little girls. Planes need landing gear!
Cougar looks great, should fly great, the six extra ounces or whatever should not matter at all. You are probably still lighter than the original stuffed full of nicads.
Flew my ducty, a pleasant little airplane...

I am always short a toki rotor or two! The only other part that goes is the pull start assembly, I have plenty of those.
Say...do you think you can get a Scorpio Skyray for review purposes without it costing me an arm and a leg? Scorpio seems to have sold the design to a German company that I cannot contact...
