Hello everyone, I too have a brand new 85" Yak and a new DA50 for power. This promises to be an awesome aircraft.

Since I have yet to start construction I would like to know when the new manuals are expected to be done.

Right now I am working out a trim scheme as my Yak is the all white version.

THANKS
Fred Rasener

Great News! I'm done with the manual. You are probably the first to have it. Please let me know what you think.
Soon it will be available on the website and we will have copies at Toledo show also.

Thank you for waiting,
Reza

P.S I can't upload it here as it doesn't accept .pdf format. You would have to send me emails asking for one

Reza,
I got the new manual from your site. Thanks.
I have a question about the anti-rotation pins. If I leave 10.5mm from the hole in the pin to the root rib, the pin is too short to go into the hole in the second rib. Also there are a number of posts about guys rotating the front pin vertical to make it easier to get in and out. Is there a specific reason for it to be horizontal?
Thanks,
griffin

Hi griffin,

The reason for horizontal and vertical is for you to be able to insert the pin clip. See rear pin is vertial because you will have a hard time inserting the pin if you install it horizontally, it's right next to the former. Trust me it's a lot easier to have it that way plus chances that both pin clips come out one in Horizontal and one vertical is almost close to 0.

As far as measurment, I did exactly 10.5 to center of the hole and pin comes in perfectly. I can insert my washer and then the clip. Now if you do shorter than 10.5 you will have a hard time inserting the clip(that can be really a problem). Longer than 10.5mm you can compensate by adding another washer on top of the other one to keep the clip snug fit to the washer/oring setup. I really don't know why someone would rotate them. I know that the rear pin is next to that thin former and from one side you can't insert it and from the other side, part of the clip would hit the former. If you haven't done yours yet, please do follow the instruction or test it with inserting the pins alone into the fuse holes and see if you can easily insert the pin clip in vice-versa set up.

Thank you for your question,
Reza

P.S Sorry I missed your point. How long is your pin. If you leave 10.5mm your pin should still go into the second rib not very much but still will go in. Give me the length of your pin and I will check it with the ones that I have. All 4 of them are like that? It's got to go in the second rib if it doesn't DO NOT glue them.

The pins are 92mm long total. The hole is 85mm from the end of the pin. The second rib is 70mm away from the face of the root rib, so the pin just barely touches it when I allow the 10.5mm.
