Looks like you have a nice pond to run ur thundercat. Looks like the boat runs nice. It's hard to tell the speed, but I'm gonna guess it's a few mph faster than my 34mph shockwave. Also, the boat looked very stable at top speed and it sounded like there was some wind so thats nice to see how the boat handles.

I was verry pleased myself about the handling, turns well left and right and does not even come close to being unstable in the straight. At first it would cavitate so mutch it wasn`t funny. On the third tank i decided to lower the prop quite a bit and the difference was incredible, my only concern is after i lost my flex-shaft, if i look at the alignement between the tube comming out of the hull and the solid shaft support just before the prop they were misaligned by almost 1/8 of an inch, i think that the tube from the hull shoud be more flexible, if i make them the same, i will be back where i started with a lot of cavitation.Any of you guys found the removal of the extra head shims to be an improvement? I run Sidewinder race fuel, 20% nitro. I can`t find a stock replacement prop around here at the moment, the only one in stock at horison is the Prather B225(1.84 X 2.8) witch is two up from stock. I felt that the motor could have pushed a bigger prop, i quess i will have no choice but find-out.

Thanks man, this is my first boat but i have been in r/c for 18 years,if it is drivable, i will adapt pretty quick! LOL!There is much bigger ponds about 20 minutes away but this one(and two more) are in a park where we go bash our monster trucks frequently, two minutes from my house.Plus getting the boat back requires only a few minutes of patience.

Thundercat 31, if your dad`s boat flywheel is loose, yes that is a problem, make it tight again before it ruins the taper between the wheel and collet.

Hey man, I am here to tell you from experiance that the SW36's 235 prop is to big. Now, it will run. It will get up on step. But you will notice a HUGE reduction in engine RPM from what I can here after seeing sima's video.

I say you try it for the heck of it. But I would not expect anything more. I would expect less. Maybe a good prop for a younger kid to learn on.

Plus damn sima's boat looked fast. I only wonder what a nice stock prop thats balanced, sharpened and cupped would do for it.

EDIT: and let's not forget about the crappy welding job that the factory did on the exhaust header. I bet it could be port matched with a dremel or a file. That alone should yield some kind of an RPM gain.

My boat was all stock out of the box exept for a 5 cell receiver pack. All i played with was prop hight.I had started tuning for performance when the flex shaft broke. The temps seemed low to me, 138 degrees at the plug after a full tank, i think i can lean it out some more on the top end, the bottom end was dead on, it felt like it anyway. The 235 prop in my opinion would be way too big for a tc 31, it comes with a 215 and if you go by prather`s engine/prop/boat type, the biggest i would go to is a b225. I will be stuck to run one next week, i will keep you posted. For fuel i run Sidewinder race 20% nitro/12% oil as i run it in my 4 nitro vehicules, i usually get more power and lower temps than using 18% oil. I basicly run richer as the fuel atomises better in the carb, get good temps and crisp power. It does require good tuning skills as the margin of error is smaller.
