I like that one. I was going to order one of their scoops for the top of my canopy, but may hold off and wait to see if that low profile canopy becomes available - really looks sharp, and kind of gives it a better proportioned look. The cockpit of the stock one is just too big in relation to the boat IMHO.

just got the thunder cat looks like fun and thought it would give me something to do when I go full size boat racing with my friends super stock boat but after checking radio operation found plastic linkage to carb broke replaced with metal. 3rd tank starter drive is already broke also came with wrong driver for starting has any one used a belt for starting this boat I bought one but found out flywheel is to close to hull I could lathe the flywheel for more room or is there any way to use this method of starting? pretty bummed out this thing hasn't hit water yet but might as well continue going through it so it will work any spec's on cutting down the rudder has any one changed out the fuel tank with something else the don't leak wire tied mine still leak's any one else that makes cool hop up parts for these boats?

Does anyone know if, and or where I can buy the rear prop bushing for TC31 or SW36 without having to buy the whole Bracket Set? Thanks for any input. Mike

I had to buy a bag of them (bushings) from smallparts.com I have a ton now the reason they come out...flex cable snaps due to a not balanced prop it is important that you do this. the bushing you need is :
o.d.= 5/8"
I.d.= 3/8"
and they are 1/2" inches long

search for bronze bushings/flanged

I have since epoxied my bushings in... and balanced my props you can get a bag of ten for about 8 dollars.
take care

Thanks Jer,I will try that sight.I do balance my props, these boats are 4yrs. old and this is the first time I've noticed a little slop in the rear bushings. And the SW36 still has the original motor in it so I can't complain to much. Mike

How is the boat supposed to ride in the water ? my boat rides on the back 3-4minchesnof the tunnels ,but i was wondering if you are supposed to hear a " wing wing wing" sound from the boat ? Almost if it is bouncing ??? Am i supposed to hear a constant wind/same pitch ? Or is there that noise like the boat bounces ?

This is my first rc boat i read this whole thread found great info, I am asking this question because i have real dragboat experince and Iknw that the boat is on a set and the motor just winds at constant sound

It depends on the water conditions you're running in....If you say your TC is riding on the back 3-4 inches of the sponsons, I would say that it is riding just right...maybe even riding a bit dry (less hull in the water)...but dry is faster. If there is a bit of chop on the water, that would make the boat bounce a bit...thus bringing the prop up out of the water momentarily allowing it to spin freely or spin with less resistance, which would allow the motor to go to higher rpms. It also depends on where you have your strut positioned. If it is too high, the prop will be more likely to cavitate....a good starting strut height is to place it where the center of the prop falls in line with the bottom of the sponsons...though it is tough to get the strut too high on the TC31 because of the rigidity of the stuffing tube.

IMO 3-4 inches is just about right but if u can set it up 2-1 inch the better and the engine sound should be a constant high pitch,,i think u got a little bouncing there.

Thanks , I understand what a boat running "dry" and "wet" is. As I said I have been around boats , drag race and ski/river boats and hae done plentty with them and know how they should ride.
I do not belive the water was "choppy" it had a few ripples but then a small ripple to a Tc31 could be chop ??
Do you get your boat to take a set and maintain a constant sound or wine ? Or is what I am doing right and im nuts for wanting more ?
