Some real news to report, I have a foam wing on its way from the States from Brian at CJM. I also got the laser cut ply kit for the wing and a canoply as well. My original canopy is of quite poor quality and would not even have allowed anyone to look into the cockpit.

Now we will see how simular these models from different sides of the Pacific actually are.

Ok Guys, I have my wing from CJM and all looks good (at the moment).
The only thing I can see wrong is the missing slot for the retract rear mount in one of the rib doublers as per the picture attached but that is easily marked out and cut. Also for postage purposes the spar had to be cut but that was right out near the end of both sides so this will not be a problem as reassured by Bruce from CJM.
I have no instructions at all so will be following Sean's build on his site very closely. http://www.strictlyscale.com/

The big thing is,,,, I have my Yellow A/C Spitfire arriving very soon so will probably spend what little time I have on that for a while.
But no harm in doing bits and pieces on two models at once right?
Just have to tend to little bubba as well so Mum can have a rest.

Brad

Brad, Just don't get the bits mixed up, you know trying to fit the Spit parts on the Mustang . Try to spend as much time as you can with the little one as they grow up way to fast.

Cheers

yeah well a week for telstra is exceptional, most times it is 3 - 4 weeks.

The Sales Consultant who is handling our new house recently moved to a new display and they swapped from optus to telstra and you guessed it, no phones or internet for over 3 weeks. Can you imagine how they stuffed up their sales enquiries! Never mind the CEO will award himself another $5mil bonus and that will fix everything.

Brad,

I hope their quality is better with the foam bits then the glass fuz. Friend of mine got a Spit fuz sent over a while back and the glass work is rubbish, worse I have ever seen. He is spending a hello of alot of time fixing it up to where it is half decent.

Giventhe amount of time you have neglected this project I think you need to knuckle down and complete it before starting the spit.

I am so tempted to get my 90" Spit on the board and complete but resisting. It is an other of John Miles designs and is similar vintage to our Mustangs. Again it is the same molds that CJM got their sticky fingers on back when . . .

Do spend as much time with the little one as you can, I look back at photos of my little bloke standing nearby wheile I have been building the 47 and then to him now and man has he ever grown, he was just toddling when I started and he has now turned 6.

cheers
Peter
