hey guys, i fly the turmiol FO in G3 and it's awesome! Does the real one fly this good? I already have built and flown one of the other FO's. Also, will it fly well outdoors?

I bought a Turmoil because of how it flew on G3 but mine was a pig and it now is no more. Mine was much heavier than what GP says it should weigh so maybe if it was lighter it would have flown better. I find it hard to believe that you can build one of these and have it come in at anywhere near the 7.5 to 9 oz. A fellow club member is putting together a FF Extra 300 of his own design which I recently had a chance to fly (it flies great!) so I'm not terribly bummed by the sad performance and subsequent demise of the Turmoil.

I haven't flown the Turmoil on G3, but my real one flew pretty darn well.

My Turmoil flies great. I put a brushless motor kit on mine and it will hover and has great vertical performance.

I just Finished up mine it is one of the best flying foamys i have ever flown. The only thing that i don't like is the wheels. I put bigger ones on from an e-flight that just meet its expiration date.
For power I am running that cheap motor from Hobby-lobby
esskay 400xt, with a 10x 3.8
Castle Thunderbird 18 Brushless
700ma 3cell lipo or a 1320 2cell( the 2 cell gives a longer flight and abought the same performance)

When i first put this plane together I tried the set up e-flite gives you with a 6:1 gear box with a 370 brush less, an a 1320 3cell. it was way to much weight.

try an ikarus model such as the yak 54 you cant mess it up if you try. this is definately one of the best planes out there the pros agree trust me buying a flatout will not make you half as happy if you had a ikarua model i have personally owned every flat out and tried many modifications to make them fly their best i worked at a hobby shop and that what allowed me to do this. dont get me wrong their not bad planes just not the best if you like the price over the ikarus models go ahead with the GP's but dont expect the same performance. and always remember lighter is better there is a big difference how a 8oz plane flies when its 8oz and when ite 10-11oz believe it or not
