sorry for the late reply but didn't notice any difference. you still have to tune as normal. but being that top end power increased i would have to believe consumption had to alittle but i still used the stock tank. i have a perry pump on all my saito's what a difference.

If anyone is looking for a Walbro WT391 Carburetor to replace their stock carb on the SPE 26 I got one for sale in the RCU marketplace for $10 shipped. The carb is new never used. If you dont already know, this carb gives a better throttle repsonse and higher RPM over stock carb, just ask Jemini.

I completely trashed my Aeroworks Yak 1.20 fuselage in a bad takeoff but the wings, elevator, canopy and even the cowl survived... Is it OK to offer them here for sale?
They are in perfect condition....

Hi evebody,
I bought one AW yak 54 90-120 and i am thinking to use the new DLE-30cc.
What do you think guys?
Will it be to heavy?
I will use 4 hitec 5625mg, 1 7985mg and 1 JR 821, a JR 2700mah 6.0V batterie for Rx and one 6.0V 1500mah for the ignition.
Do you think this set up will be to heavy for fly 3D? I pretend to fly hard 3D.
I leave 900m. (2700ft) about the sea level.
I think the wingloading will be to much, something about 31.75oz-ft.
I don´t know the weight, but i think it will be about 12lbs.
I saw one guy with a syssa gas engine, it is 30cc to and have the same weight that the DLE 30 (39oz), and his yak´s weight about 12lbs.
Will the yak fly like a dog?
This engine will be enought to pull out of a hover with easy?
It will be my first gas engine.

Sorry my english,
Thanks,
Thiago.

Thats a nice match. I was thinking that or CRRC-40, I have the CRRC-26 in mine right now it can do it all expect pull out of a hover. 11lb airplane with 13lb thrust not so good. I think you got right...More Power!! More Power!!!...

highflyer66, thanks.
Yes more power always is good, but i am not sure about the extra weight.
I send a email to aero-works.
When i have the answer i will post here.
Last question,
will the DLE 30cc fit all inside the cowl or i will have to cut, like the MLD 28?
THanks,
Thiago.

On the CRRC with how far the carb sits no the side of the motor I did cut out a hole to make it fit. And thats with out the velocity stack on it. The hole is small. So the opening for the carb is sticking out and the choke. But from looking at the DLE-30 I think it will fit better then mine? To bad they don't make a Pitts muffler for it. (Yet)

Pick up a Evolution 26cc and do the mods :
(WALBRO CARBURETOR WT-540, cut the evo-tuned pipe and take out the baffle, pick up a lighter ignition)
and if you really want to get the rpm's way up w/o any worries stick in a Ceramic bearing.....

That setup will Kill any 30cc out, and will weight much lighter....

The stock ignition is heavy, and the stock bearings may not be up to the task if you swing a smaller prop
due to all that added power.....

it may cost a bit more, but the engine will last forever and be a
ABSOLUTE BEAST....

the mld 28 is still a great choice. plenty of power to spare. im sure you cant go wrong with either engine but i have had the mld and was very impressed. just make sure with either engine you purchase get it from cermark, or cheif for the mld or get the dl from a us distrubutor.

I see the DL is only 1.5 oz heavier.... Is it worth it? I work at a hobby shop here in town, and the 30's are one the way to us, but it it too much power for this plane? I know that's a stupid question, but has anybody with a MLD 28 said "jeez, I could use another 8 lbs of thrust." The YS I have is pissin me off, it will be the MLD or DL. Syssa would be super sweet, but $430+shipping? Decisions, decisions. Recommendations?

one thing you need to check is, is the standoff distance the same or very close to the dl and mld? the mld justs fits with not much room to spare.

Good thinking James, I would have never thought about that. I am a machinist, so making new standoffs is no problem, as a matter of fact I have some on the plane I made right now. So, I'm back to the same old problem. Which engine?

Well after a year of flying the 50cc yak I finished my 90 to 120 Yak. I used an OS FX 160, A123's and Hitec digitals. My weight is 10.8 I had one flight after I ran several tanks thru the new motor. I took off after a long delay. The only difference I could tell between the 50cc yak and the 90 to 120 is my 50cc has a blue leading edge and my 90 to 120 the leading edge is red!

I did about a 5 minute flight. It hovered easy. I'll give a full 3D report with my limited skills. MY 50cc is a 3D monster so why would this be different? The FX 160 might be replaced with an AX 120....Time will tell.

The 90 to 120 seams to be some what sensetive. Get the CG right. THe throws have been givin for triple rates. I went 3D and half way between low and high rates (for duel rate radios) The power of the OS 160 is awsome. My weight is around 10 lbs. I weighted the plane don't remember the oz's I want to replace the landing gear with carbon fiber. THis plane is a 3D machine with the right power. I am happy thinking about my next Aeroworks model purchase. I have the small edge ready to put together too.

i bought the carbon landing gear for this yak and there was no weight advantage. it is the exact same weight as the stock gear. the big difference is the carbon gear is alot stiffer. i liked the stock aluminum gear better.

Aeroworks uses 7075 aircraft grade aluminum for making our main gears. It is a very Expensive Aluminum but is extremely strong and lightweight. Most other manufacturers use 5051 or 6061 aluminum and it is much heavier and weaker. So on the smaller sized QB planes it is hard to beat the strength and weight of the provided aluminum gear.

Thank You
Rocco/Aeroworks
