I was flying it with a Brillelli 26cc, and it was a perfect match at 9 1/4 pounds.

How do you think this one will match up with the B 26 on it?

I'm looking for all out 3D power.

We have enough planes to fill all of the orders we have, no worries about not getting one espiacally if you are already on the list.

The 26 will be a good match for our yak. Expect to be about a 1/4 pound heavier due to the larger size of the model but this should not effect performance.

Just wondering which servos were used in testing and how they performed. This will be my first step up from a 40 size extra 300s. Should be interesting .

I fly at 8300 ft asl, and at this altitude engines are power downgraded by almost 30%. In such case i need at least 4.1 BHP which means a OS3500 however that engine weights 1350 grams (47,3 oz) vs. a DA50 that weights the same but with 1 BHP more, therefore sounds like a better choice. I know it sounds madness to ask this question but that`s the type of power penalty we have to fly around here in the Andes Mountains in South America. Would it fit?, What do you think?

PD: I have a 50cc yak with a 3W80cc and it handles well

If I remember correctly we used 5645's all the way around with great succsess. If you are looking to get the most out of the plane digitals are the way to go but any servo with 120oz+ will do just fine.

The DA 50 is to big for the airplane! There is really no way to get it to fit unless you leave the cowl off and then if you do get it mounted it will be next to impossible to get it to balance. I would go with an OS 1.60 and go from there. If you want to go bigger Satio has there 220 4 stroke that is heavier than the OS but still lighter than a DA. Weight is critical to airplanes and adding 2-3 extra pounds of weight will make it fly terrible.

Status: offline 		Hello, I just got done with my edge 540t 46/61. And i'm just waiting for this Michigan weather to turn. Anyhow, my qustion is, About this new yak! I've been looking for a nice little plane that i can through that O.S. BGX-1 3500. two stroke in. Its a little on the heavy side, 47.3 oz.w/o muffler. But it has huge power. 4.1 hp. Will this new yak handle that power, and the weight.? Any feed back would be great. Thanks.

Status: offline 		The picture shows the motor mount installed sidewasys on the motor box. For those of us wanting to instal the motor upside down (based on the location and shape of the pipe), would the original motor mount fit the existing holes if rotated 90 deg. ccw, or do we have to drill new mounting holes? or find a different motor mount?

The motor will be a little on the heavy side for the yak. It will also require you to cut up a lot of the cowl in order to get it to fit properley. Let us know when you fly the Edge, its a great little performer!

You may need to redrill 2 of the holes in order to get everything to work properley. You will be able to use the stock mount however.

The motor used in the video is actually an OS 1.20 AX and the model weighed 9 1/4 pounds. Thanks for the compliments!

Status: offline 		Ordered everything on Friday, just waiting on word from the guys at AW that they've arrived Going with the EVO 23GT with the wrap around inverted muffler. The rest of the order is as recommended in the manual as far as servos. A couple of 2100mAh NIMH. TruTurn spinner, etc etc. Can't wait to get started on this plane. Will be my first attempt at a gasser. The OS 160's and Saito 180's are drinking WAY to much fuel that I'm running now..........

I ordered mine a week ago as well. Motor choice is real important to me. Fly Raptor 90se heli's and I am getting back into planes, but as you said, my 90 O.S. really burns thru the CP 30% fuel too. A two stroke (although powerful and light) just doesn't seem the "natural" choice for this style of bird. Thought about using the Evolution 26GT2 (1.6) Gas Engine as well, I believe thats what you are using ?? Did you consider using Lion Batteries in lieu of NIMh ?? are you going with "Y" connectors on the aileron and elevator servos or direct to receiver/mix set-up ?? any regulators?

Just looking for advice !! Thanks and Good Luck, Dan



P.S. Quick question for Mark Dennis (btw really great line of products!!) are you using a "slimLine" Pitts Muffler on the OS 1.20 AX in the video ?? The motor sounded more like a 4-stroke, or maybe I need a hearing aid

BTW... I'm considering a YS 140FZ... its the same size as their 120 engine... I hope it fits in the cowl without a lot of cutting.... do you know the cowl size?
