I'm putting an Evolution 26cc gas in mine... trying to get away from $30 fuel as fast as possible. I had a YS 120 and 140 laying around, was originally going to use the 140 on this plane, but a friend of mine made me a deal on his Evo, so we'll see how it works out.

I did get the ailerons and elevators done last night. Nice of AW to throw in the ball links, etc.. I did notice a problem with the rudder.. The pull-pull wiring and connectors are too small for the ball links! So you either need to buy a 4-40 sized pull-pull kit or use the clip style connectors on your rudder control arms. I think a 4-40 sized pull-pull kit costs about $5 at the hobby store, so its a quick fix.

Other than that, so far, so good.

Yeah I noticed that about the rudder linkage too. I'd rather go with ball links on the servo arm and the clevises at the rudder control horn. The 3" MLP full servo arm I have is already threaded for 4-40 ball links. I could conceivably have this ready to maiden by memorial day, but not gonna rush it now. Dunno if my LHS has 4-40 Pull-Pull kit, so that right there might keep me from finishing. No worries, I'd rather do it my way than settle.. Sounds like your further along with yours..

John at Aeroworks confirmed what I had heard from others already. Aeroworks takes care of thier customers!!! John took time out of his holiday weekend to take care of the small issue I had on my fuse. Thanks again John!!

OK, I guess where the pull-pull is concerned, this kit is designed to use a plastic dual servo arm, not the metal one with 4-40 threads in it. If that's the case, then the supplied pull-pull kit will work fine. I'm still going to upgrade mine to a 4-40 kit, not that the rudder woudl put that much force on it, but I already have the servo arm and ball joints. All I need is the proper wiring/conector kit.

I'm in the same boat reyn3545. I purchased a 3" MLP full arm that's threaded for 4-40 for the JR 8611A rudder servo. JR doesn't supply a suitable servo arm for this and don't have any laying around, so I'll stick with the MLP arm. I didn't make it to the LHS before they closed today, so I'll have to wait till next week to pick up the necesary hardware to do the pull-pull.

Got both wings and the stab/elevators done. Started laying out the radio gear, mounted the switch, battery and regulator so I could begin programming my radio for it. I'm pleased with how things are shaping up so far.

Yes, we are in the same boat. I had some spare parts laying around from when I re-worked my biplane, so I had enough to get the pull-pull working. I did the ailerons, elevators, rudder, then started laying in the receiver, regulator and battery. Things seemed to be moving ahead OK, then I noticed one of the ailerons wasn't returning to its proper location when I was moving the sticks. It looked like the gear teeth on my airwild servo arms were stripped out. The more I worked the servos, the more it became aparent that the only thing holding ANY of the servos in place was the surface tension from the screw. Airwild sent me the wrong )(* arms. Maybe I ordered the wrong ones, who knows at this point. I only know that if my LHS doesn't have any (they probably don't) .... its going to be a week or more before this thing flies... GRRRRRR.

Other than this, I did notice on the wings, if you use the clips to hold the wings against the fuse, the rear pins won't go fully into position unless you drill a hole in the plywood below. The rear of the wings do stick out just a little, so at least on my plane, I think I'm going to use the rear pins.

I still like this plane a lot, I think its going to be a nice flyer.

Ouch, that bites.. What servos are you going with?? I went with the AirWild MLP arms too. I noticed the wing anti rotation clips being a little long in the rear too but trimmed the clips rather than drill holes in the plywood. My wings fit flush against the side of the fuse with just the wing bolts and rear clips, so I'm not gonna even attempt to install the front clips.

I mounted my engine and fuel tank. I just *had* to throw on the cowl prop and spinner to see what it looks like. The molded in simulated cowl louvers are a nice touch.

I'm done for tonight, I'll start back on it tomorrow. If I had everything I needed to finish, I could easily have it done by tomorrow afternoon. It'll probly be another week for me too though. I Need 4-40 pull-pull hardware and a fuel dot to finish, but I think my LHS is closed tomorrow. No worries, it'll give me penty of time to go over everything again to make sure I didn't screw up anywhwere. This thing is going together REAL fast.

Does anyone else have plans to run the new YS110S? I just got rid of my Saito 125 and bought this engine. Thoughts? I know the YS has more power than the Saito, I was just curious who else was going this route. And, please, let's not turn this into a Saito vs. YS thing!

I'm gonna be watching the reports on the Evolution 26CC builds with interest. I debated on going that route but went the 120AX route initially.. Interested in muffler choice, tank placement and overall weight for you guys going with the 26GT..

Welp, I'm basically at a stand still till I can pick up what I need to finish her up.. I'm very pleased with how things are fitting and going together so easily. Hats off to Aeroworks for putting together a quality kit that truly is a "Quick Build" Some more pics for your viewing pleasure.

I've got the Evo 26... the muffler is going to be a real challenge. The motor/muffler I bought from my friend was a Bison inverted pitts... the can on this thing is so large I don't think it would fit in the cowl without butchering it. I've heard that the Evolution Pitts wrap-around muffler would be about the same.

The head is so big on this thing (for the cowl size) that I want to mount it inverted, so it looks like my only mufffler choice will be the inverted Evo with a small pancake type of can on the side. I don't know how it will fit in the cowl, but I think its my best bet.

Also, I haven't mounted the motor yet, but to mount it inverted, I will have to relocate the blind nuts. They are currently set up for a side-mount setup, and it looks like all 4 holes will have to move for a bottom-mount.

These are small challenges... we'll see how it looks, maybe tomorrow.
