From what I've read on pull-pull setups, you should keep the width of the servo arm holes as close as possible to the width of the rudder conrol horns. Measuring between the middle two holes on the Yak's control horns comes out to 2 inches. I have a 3 inch MLP arm. Should I drill additional holes in the servo arm and reduce the distance to 2" or will I be close enough? Suggestions?? Advice?? Opinions??? I have virtually no experience on pull-pull setups so am unsure.

Thanks, looks like I will have to order a new header. I found one at a place called Mac Products.

Bandit... I did weigh the engine, muffler (the Bison I'm not using), the electronic ignition and the spinner together... 3 pounds even. Add another 4 ounces or so for the battery ... that should about do it.

Bandit.. on these pull-pulls, Aeroworks was smart enough to put plastic tubing in the fuse to contain the pull-pull cable. That prevents the most common problem you see with these systems... the wires cutting the fuse.

I used 3 inchers on mine, didn't see any problem with alignment. If you think about it, its only 1/2 inch on both ends... not going to hurt you enough to worry about it.

I saw the tubes at the exits for the pull-pull, nice touch. Do you notce any slack or escessive tension in either of the cables at full deflection??

Turned out to be a pretty day today. Grrrrr wish I would of checked out the hardware closer. Dunno how you're gonna setup your throttle on the 26GT, but the supplied throttle rod was too short for the 120AX.

I'm kinda wondering about the throttle setup myself. Regardless of how I route it, I always do the same thing...

Buy some 4-40 threaded rod at the local hobby store. Get 4-40 ball links and use on both ends of the threaded rod. its the most secure way to do the link. You could also use Goldenrod or other flexible tubing inside a plastic hose, but I like the threaded rod better.

I just have to figure out how to get a 4-40 ball link on the throttle arm. Its not a large size arm, and the carb is at an awquard angle from the motor/fuse.

Throttle with the 120AX is a straight shot to the stock servo location if you put the kink in the rod forward of the motor box as suggested in the instructions.. I'll use the supplied tube and a 2-56 rod with clevis at the throttle arm, z-bend the servo end. Just need a rod long enough lol.

Since your inverting your 26GT, might look at mounting the servo on the bottom of the motor box if there's enough clearance. Might be a straight shot from there.

Hey... Anyone thinking about a Saito 1.80 for this bird? I have a 1.80GK on a WildHare 25% Edge at just over 11 lbs and it's a vertical machine... any thoughts?

I don't think the plane is strong enough for that. I've got a 1.80 GK on my biplane, about 12 pounds, very fun plane, but I think the framework (engine box, wing tube, etc..) on the Yak would be a little on the weak side for a motor witht that kind of torque and pull.

Thanks for the reply reyn3545... I am looking for a Yak to build in the near future just not sure which one to go with. Going to order the Aeroworks .46 - .60 Edge to give a home to my Saito 1.00.

Hello all, Well my dad got one of our new 90 1.20 Yak on Friday and I had it ready to fly for todays flying day. Specs are as follows........

-Aeroworks 90-1.20 Yak all BOX STOCK
-YS 1.20 4 stroke
-DX7 radio gear with DS821s and hitec 5645 on rudder
-16x8 APC prop with TT spinner
-Fuel is WildCat YS 20/20

Let me say that out of the box this is a 10 airplane! I think the only mod I had to make from stock was add a couple small holes to the rudder servo tray for the hair pins for the wings......everything as was used in the kit no added nuts or bolts! I started my build for my dad on Sat. morning and had it ready to fly by sunday after noon! So once I was done with the build and radio setup (per the manual) I put it on our charger and let it charge to head out to the field for monday....

Let me first off start by saying we ended up getting 6 flights on the Yak today and WOW what a sweet smooth flying plane this is!!! It did eveything we asked it to do from slow hovering to knife edge loops, snap rolls etc. etc. It was also pretty winding out there today with wings blowing up to 30 mph and we still went out and flew the new yak! And for as light (guessing about 9 lbs) as it is, it handled the wind like a champ!

How did the ds821's work? I also have the small yak and considering the same servos. because I have them sitting around doing nothing.
