I have just bought a new Dynamite Prophet Sport charger and have two batteries one is a 1600 and the other a 3300. The charger says to charge at 2 amps but doesnt offer a time for how long it will take. Is there somewhere i can find a chart or what do i need to calulate to find this out

The formula for charging is simple. Your charge rate should not exceed a 1C rate. This means that your 3300mAh pack (3.3 amp pack) should not be charged at a rate higher than 3.3 amps.

Your 1600mAh pack (1.6 amp pack) should not be charged at a rate above 1.6 amp.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi, welcome to rcu. You may be in the manufacturer forum (Common Sense is the company) Anyways 2 amps will deliver 2000 ma in 1 hour. I think you have nimh and nicad batts.

the 1600 is 48 minutes
the 3300 is 99 minutes

Yes the 1600 is and nimh its by sportwerks and came with my truck. The 3300 is a nimh that i bought from radio shack. The hobby shop where i bought the charger said i can charge on two amps through the ac plug is that safe with the 1600 or is it going to put stress on the battery

2 amps is ok for the 1600, 1 amp may give a bit longer battery life. I think that I would use the 1 amp setting if I was not in a hurry. It will take twice as long.
