I had a good experience with Sig today. I finised my Ultimate Fun Fly, but had a single 4-40 nylon hex head bolt missing. The nearest hobby shop didn't have any, and the next nearest is over 120 miles away.

I called Sig and told them that I had no idea if it was shorted in the kit, or if I lost it myself. They sent me the bolt at no charge. I know it only cost them a few cents, but I've delt with companies in the past that told me to bug off.

With all the complaints I see about manufacturers, distributors, ISP's, forums, etc. (some well founded, others not) I thought I'd put in a positive note for a change.

Hi Tim,

It is great to here the a Manufacturer will go out of it's way to send something this small. Most would probably just blow you off. I have found that the local hardware store carries some very small fasteners just in case this becomes a problem. Just a hop, skip and a jump and your on your way the same day.

Chook,

I agree. I was expecting to have to pay for a pack of bolts, and their standard $6.99 shipping all to get one single nylon bolt. After giving my address, I waited for a price quote. Instead, she told me she would ship it out Monday, free of charge.

I own four Sig kits out of seven total in every condition from flying to NIB. Past reasons for Sig kits were good quality and excellent instructions. They just solidified a permanent customer with their service, and you can guarantee my next kit will be a Sig.

I checked the local stores and didn't find anything nylon, but they have regular steel 4-40 stuff. I've got several 4-40 steel bolts that I was planning on using if Sig wanted me to pay a bunch for a single bolt.
