www.rcmart.com

HHere is the link.

http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=595_744_923&products_id=23408&pname=Kawada%20(#TBA1-01)%20Inch%20Spur%20Gear%20Conv%20For%20DF-03

But remember, you need the slipper to fit this part on to! Rcmart has the slipper too.

I've also bought a few hard to find Dark Impact hop-up parts from seller "jr-rc" on eBay, including my Kawada adapter. Jason is the man!

What? Nobody liked my Dark Impact ST vids I posted on page 53? Fine!

im looking to buy a new front gearbox lower mount since i broke and bent my alloy one , do u advise me to get the alloy one or the plastic .

I'm not a big fan of aluminum option parts. Most of them are made of cheap aluminum and bend or break easy. I'd stick with plastic. It's usually cheaper to replace too. Get a spare!

I liked your vid. Good music as well. I just dont see the point of converting the DF-03 platform into a stadium truck. It is meant to be a buggy not a truck. I can see doing it temporarily just for a bash or two, but not permanent.

The point of it is that there isn't a 4wd stadium truck out on the market. Thats why he converted the buggy into one. I think its a great idea. I would love to have a stadium truck with 4wd.

Yep! Exactly the point! 4WD buggies are a dime a dozen. Besides, how cool is it to have a one of a kind 4WD stadium truck? I find I like building my project vehicles almost as much as driving them. None of my vehicles stay "stock" for long.

I would go with the plastic also. Had an alloy one and it lasted no longer than plastic for the bashing that i do. If you race the alloy may be stiffer and handle better but i never noticed the difference.

like redbarton said plastic is usualy cheaper and keep a spare on hand

Hello all! I just finished the first phase of my DI build and I have to say I am very happy with the result. The car went together pretty easy. I did have to pre-tap the holes for the aluminum screws, but I think it was well worth it. I added a few of Tamiya's Hop-up options to the car and Phase 2 of the build will have a box load a 3Racing parts being added. I'd love to know if anyone has some suggestions on what to add or what to tweek on the car to make it run a little better. I haven't added the ESC because I'm toying witht the idea of a Novak Brushles system. Just a thought at this point.

I've put some pics below and I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do.

Thanks for taking a look!

Thank you everyone for the kind words about my BLING THING.

I decided to go with the DF03 over the Durga for a few reasons. I personally like the feel of a shaft drive car over a belt drive car. I also wanted something that was basic to build and set up. I've had to many cars in the past that I've had to spend four hours setting up to run four batteries. That isn't the type of fun ratio that I was shooting for. Plus I made my decision based on how the car was going to end up. As I mentioned this is only Phase 1, my ultimate goal is to add the 3Racing components to the car to build a very tough, reliable and nice looking car...plus it's very easy to maintain. This is a huge plus to me.

In my opinion the Durga looks a little over engineered. I can't say if it's an easy build or easy to set up...I don't own one. But it looks to me like the car requires to much attention with regards to maintenance. Don't get me wrong, I think Tamiya did a good job dumbing down the 501X, but if you take a Durga and "Hop it up" to it's fullest potential the cost is comparable to a 501X, so why not just start there. My reason for that is I don't like running saddle pack batteries.

I hope that helps…it’s just my two cents for what it’s worth.

Brian
