-SomeGuy- -> .9a or 1.8a (4/3/2006 6:06:52 PM)

I just received a new charger for my 7.2v nimh packs. Its a universal smart charger, i got it just to prevent overcharging.

On the charger there is a switch for .9a or 1.8a, my question is; does this make it charge faster at 1.8a? if so will i get a longer battery life if i leave it at .9a? or does this have nothing to do with charging speed?

Sorry for what might be a dumb question but i'd rather be safe than sorry.

anybody?...

It will charge faster at 1.8A. Which setting you use should be determined by the capacity of your battery pack. If your pack has a capacity of 1800 mAh or greater, you won't see a significant difference in battery life charging at 1.8A.

Well i have 1 1500 mah 1 3000 mah and 2 3300 mah so i guess i should charge the 1500 at .9a and the others are safe to charge at 1.8a.

thanx for the info.

You can charge them all at 1.8a . It will not effect and not harm the batteries .
