Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the forum to ask this question or if it has been ask in other forums (if so please redirect me there)

Is it possible to fly a RC Plane via a wireless camera? Either by looking at a Computer monitor or preferred Computer Visor?
http://www.3dvisor.com/ or http://www.3dvisor.com/products.php.

Does anyone know if it has been done or where I can find more info about it?

Thank you in advance.
Rex

Yes, you can. You should use a buddy box and an observer in case you loose orientation or signal. You are not covered by AMA insurance if you fly this way.

Major,
Thanks for your reply. I've posed the question to several of my RC Friends and got the reply why go through the trouble.

It think it would open the doors to some awesome adventures! Could you image taking off and landing via FBC "Fly by Camera"? Flying an ol warbird with real instruments you can actually see them in your camera display as you fly. Having a mini servo on a Y axis mounted to the camera as to simulate your left and right head movements!

Can you image Dogfights? Using some modified "Laser Tag" system to out your shots toward your friends and foes!

I quite sure this isn't AMA Legal.... Yet! But I could see it one day being available and affordable and maybe even the norm flying RC Planes!

It could be the start of a new revolution in RC Flying.

Any other opinions?

Thank you E-Mo! I knew someone had to have done this already.

I would love to see this in Warbird mode and some dogfight footage.

I'm sure it is, like so many other things too.
But how can you regulated via AMA before its even invented?

If i were you i would be careful if u decide to try it because AMA is completely against it and if u happen to crash into something valuable, they won't cover u.

Looks awesome to me ! I wouldn't have the guts though. I'd be afraid of having wideo problems. Hmmm... that wouldn't be good.

It has been "invented" long ago,

it's not a new idea you have there...
