I have 3 Webra .61 (10cc) engines. 2 I've had since new. 1 I bought at a swap meet a couple of months ago. I've been running this one and the other day it stopped and was very stiff to turn. Luckily, it was prior to take off. I figured bearings, but when I took it apart the bearings were fine. The connecting rod however was very tight on the crank pin. I looked at one of my others and also at a new rod that I had that I believed to be for a Webra. Both of these were cast units with 2 oil holes at the crank journal and no bushing there. They also had needle bearings at the wrist pin journal. The one on the tight engine is a machined unit with 1 oil hole, no bushing, and the same needle bearing at the wrist pin. I replaced it with my new one and it appears to be fine, but I haven't tested it yet. I'm thinking that this was an after market rod with one oil hole, and didn't get sufficient lube especially since it's mounted inverted. Any one know for sure? Also, the replacement rod slipped on easily. There is clearance, but not what I would call slop.
Thanks
John
