Where should the balance point be on a 40% Giles 202? I recenty picked one up but it didn't come with instructions.

Thanks,
Mike

Wow...... This is great stuff. I guess I can expect this kind of support on all my Aeroworks purchases......

Guess I should saved longer and got the Quique YAK instead.

Sorry for the delay the CG should be set right in front of the wing tube.
As for the throws they are as follows:
Elevator: High 1 3/4" up & down
Low 1 1/4" up & down
Rudder: Full deflection

Aileron: High 1 3/4" up & down
Low 1 1/4" Up & down

For 3D we recomend to use:
Elevator 60-70*
Rudder Full Deflection
Aileron 40*

Once again I opologize for the delay. Let us know when you fly her the 202 is an awesome plane.

Cool Beans!!! Thanks,

Sorry for getting snooty but this is my first really large aerobat and I'm a bit excited to get it going. I've ordered a bunch of Smart-Fly components and am getting them put in. I was hoping this weekend but we'll see.

Thanks,
Mike

When I bought the plane, the guy told me it was 40% size. I didn't see it on your website so I assume it is something you no longer kit. Is it really 40% or some other scale?

Thanks,
Mike

Optech, A 40% Giles 202 is smaller than a 40% Extra , Edge.
What I am trying to say is the full scale wing span of which we base our percentages off of is smaller on a Giles than other aircraft. So when we scale them down they look smaller compared to a 40% Extra but are still 40% scale or semi scale to the full size Giles.
Hope this makes since, Daniel

Daniel, Yeah.... That makes sense. In anycase, this thing is huge. Not exactly the biggest I've ever flown but for a scale aerobat it is.

I was just wondering since I can't find a product description to base my plane from, I have to go purely on what I was told. No big deal or anything but is my plane actually a 40% scale Giles or some other scale?

What's the wingspan of the full scale Giles and I'll go from there?

Thanks,
Mike

I think a real 200 is about 20 ft....Wing on a 202 was a litle larger.........A 40% Giles is about 113-116 inches in span

A full scale Giles 202 is 22 feet, that means a 40% model should be around 105 inch wingspan.

An Extra 300 has a wingspan of 26ft 3in, a 40% model should be around 126 in wingspan.

That is why the 40% Giles 202 model looks more like a 35% aircraft when compared to an Extra 300.

Hope that helps.

How did you like the Giles?
