If you can get turbine oil to burn then your engine should be hot enough to watch the cylinder head melting but at least it'd be so lean that the exhaust wouldn't be full of unburnt methanol vapours that you're usually breathing in

That said, if turbine oil does burn then the by-products are considered to be harmful...from the MSDS for Mobil Jet Oil 2 this is listed as being carbon monoxide.

Just for interest's sake, these are the flash points given in their respective MSDS.
Castor oil..235C (455F)
Mobil Jet Oil2....246C (475f)
BP 2380...204C (399F)

Denatured alcohol is ethyl alcohol made non drinkable it is also only 95% there is an
absolute alcohol 99% used in labs that is very expensive listed as CP absolute I think

Ross,
You have got it correct. Rubbing alcohol is 70% Isopropanol and 30% water. If you are lucky you can find gallon jugs of 99% Isopropanol and this is top notch for use in model work.
Ethanol as we made it at Union Carbide for the 36 years I worked there was 190 proof and 200 proof.
The 190 made good bloody marys but the 200 proof was washed with Mono Glycol to remove the 5% water in the 190 proof stuff.
Correct on the denature as the pure alcohol was heavy taxed by Gov. and after denature was shipped without alcohol tax. We made the pure Listerine using 190 proof with a denature added. We also shipped 190 out to cosmetic companies but this also had to have the denature added
