Although I love a good debate and the exchange of ideas, which in the correct forum are a healthy thing for any organization...

I believe that some of these fellows should be reminded that membership in MAAC is a 'Privilege' not a right.

Their MAAC Membership will be up for renewal in the Fall / New Year - perhaps the MAAC BOD should consider REFUSING membership to a few of those folks who do not wish to abide by the rules of MAAC or the decisions of the Organization.

After all; Debate is one thing, seeking to undermine the very existance of the association is well beyond all acceptable parameters.

That's because They discovered the truth......The emergency meeting is ILLEGAL.

OK people I made a MISTAKE.

The Petition to the President of MAAC
To call for a SPECIAL ZONE MEETING for the purpose of election a new Zone
Director is done WRONG.

So the meeting on May 8 to elect a new zone director is OFF

Forest City Flyers will still be having there meeting that night. I will be
there to collect proxies.

THE proper way was point out to me.

by-law

31 (1) the office of director shall be automatically vacated:

(b) if at a meeting of members of a National Organization Zone, a resolution
is passed by 2/3 of the members present at the meeting that he be removed
from office;

We have to have the petition into MAAC before May 5.
So I will be sending out NEW Petitions to call for this meeting by tomorrow
at the latest. Which will give you time to get people to sign it.

Also if you notice......The CAC aeromodelers is no longer listed in PALMER'S signature.... Wonder why?????? HMMMMMM
And yet ANOTHER mistake by someone who want's to be the S/W Zone Director.
The idea is to know ALL the details BEFORE you do something, not try to repair the damage AFTER the MISTAKE is done.
Another example of BEING LED DOWN A WATERY GRAVE.....

they must just send out these e-mails to people that they think will vote their way, and invite them to the meeting.......get a life children. Too bad a proxy wasn't sent to every member in the zone.

Hopefully the clown parade has tickled the SW funnybone long enough as to ensure enough interest to quickly deep-six this last ditch effort of stupidity.

There was a time that this stuff was mildly entertaining, but it's .......yaaaaaawwwwwwnnnn............ not anymore.

I guess the lure of the intoxicating effects of being an all-powerful MAAC ZD is just too much for some to let go.

These guys are embarrassing themselves.

Very True Sharpy but I think that this group has managed to brainwash enough SWZ members over the years to vote in someone who would continue this embarrassing situation. All of the SW zone members should openly rewiew each encumbents platform, ask questions and sign a proxy for the most suitable Zone Director. It is understandable that there are about 99% of the SwZ members that don't want to get involved with any politics but if we want to move ahead in a positive way we must actively campaign for Bryan Hewitt and enlist the silent majority. If nobody wants to get involved and sign proxies then we are going to be subjected to the same old stuff in the future. It is time for the SWZ members to get on the band wagon and vote.

to make it fair and honest, it should be all closed proxies sent to a third party. I've been at meetings where everyone in the club voted with the present majority, when I know in fact a lot of the people didn't agree. When I'd ask them why they did it, they'd say stuff like, I don't want to get involved, I don't want to lose my field privledges.........This is the problem. People are afraid to speak out and take a stand because they are afraid of taking flak. A closed proxy sent to a third party would solve that.

Yes, I got that same feeling at our last zone meeting when they voted on sending some request to the BOD to get them to post an apology to Gerry Shaw. Peer pressure.

I love my 9303. Was out again last night with a new setup on an old plane that I transferred. It worked flawlessly. I love the 2 position flap switch too. Works great with flaperons.

So far I can't find fault with mine. Highly recommended!!!

Actually I was trying to get it to notify me if responses. You have to type something, apparently edits don't count. I had a mini attack on my computer last night and a couple things aren't quite the same.

It seems all mention of the "special zone meeting" has been removed from the SW zone web site. I hope this means peace in the zone for some time. MAAC did send out a letter that this meeting would not be reconized since it is out of order. Great news.

Great News????? More of our money spent dealing with this issue. "Peace in the Zone" is ironically similar to "Peace in Our Time" and we know how that turned out.

Jeff think of it as an infection it takes some time for the antibiotics to work. Most of the members in the Zone want peace and to get on with the fun part. It will take time and yes unfortunately some money to accomplish this but do place the blame on the infection not the cure. Even a small infection firmly entrenched will take a little longer and perhaps a more aggressive application of antibiotics than normal. I think the cure is well on its way and we can look to better days in the future. Look at this as a learning experience for the BOD. They now have the knowledge and tools to handle this type of infection. If ever a new infection would occur hopefully it would not be allowed to fester for as many years as this one has.

A week has gone by and nothing posted.

Hopefully this is a sign that things are settling down and people are actually getting back to the "business" of having fun and going flying.

Fighting an infection is never easy, and you can get scarred for life.

For those in the SW zone, my best wishes for a quiet summer.
