This is a direct question for redcat racing. Why do the spur gears strip on on pretty much everyone??? I would like an answer from redcat. I make sure the engine screws are tight, the mesh of the clutch bell and spur gears is good and engine is square. I am in the hobby for 20+ years and would like an answer from the company not an opinion from other people posting on the site.

If anyone else has had gears strip please post so they realize how big of a problem this is, i also dont mean after gallons of fuel since that is expected i mean within a few tanks of fuel.

Thank You

I only edited the subject line, bud, so don't worry, all the content is still in the thread
Eric

wow, all of a sudden nobody had a problem with the gears in their cars, i could swear this was a big problem for the last month or so that i have been on the forum. Guess no one has the balls to stand up for themselves. What a JOKE!

I don't think that's the case, you asked for a specific reply from someone at redcat racing. I think that those who have had problems with the gears have expressed themselves already, now we're just waiting to see if we get a reply.

I'd say is low quality parts... Breaks to easily. I've gone through 7 tanks after break in, and had spun gears... I haven't even pushed the buggy hard. I's just unreliable, they should at least make some higher quality replacement parts so that wouldn't happen all the time...

My clutch bell is junk and its showing wear on the gears from it. I'm going to use something other than the substandard Redcat clutch bell. I'll post later after its running.

Oh, oops sorry I must have missed that part ehroof. Well then let me start my rant. I stripped the hell out of my gears tonight. I made sure they were all properly aligned with the clutch bell but unfortunatley they still decided to go. I feel that the need for some serioulsy more heavy duty parts would not only make us all happy but def. improve the image of redcat racing. The biggest complaint I hear about this hobby are that things break always, and I do understand that accidents happen and it isn't always the manufacturers fault. But when it occurs as frequently as at has in this case you begin to wonder if maybe there was a design flaw somewhere along the line. I think the problem with these is that the clutch bells are made poorly and that leads to the eventual grinding away of the plastic gears. Hopefully I'll be able to find some better solution tomorrow at my lhs. If I do i'll be sure to post it.

Hey ehroof this has nothing to do with your post.Ive had my share of problems with the redcat product.Ive went and got a traxxas nitro sport and a ofna ultra lx comp buggy.I couldnt be more happier.Though redcat is cheaper, but dang they make up for that in parts.

I wont waste any more money on volcano parts, cause it seems like just as soon as you fix one problem.Something else comes along.Even running those things easy, they just break so fast and easy.I wish you luck with getting any answer to your question,peace....

EDIT....FIND SOMETHING AMERICAN MADE....

traxxas makes a great product, tamiya, kyosho and hpi too. i have no complaints about these companies, any problems i have had with these were my fault.

I only made this post to make people aware of what redcat racing is all about, $$$$$$$$. even their affiliate program post what a joke, the redcat game (used to lure kids to thier product). All you need to become a redcat dealer is an email address. I have a dealer account with them (wouldnt sell it, too many problems, just wanted to see what kind of deal they had, i was considering opening a store in july). As i said before, the owner Darin never answers a question about the cars, always says going to china or its good to know the good and bad so we can grow as a company. I just want to see an answer to this gear stripping problem.
