The belt drive is really nice and quiet. The only thing I lost was the free wheeling that I had with the clutched main gear but really that is no big deal.

Freewheeling? Mine doesnt have freewheeling. It has a littlebit of slop, allowing to turn the gear for like 30' but it most definatly isnt able to spin the rotor while the gear isnt moving. You think mine is broken? Or perhaps do you have a different (wooden, nitro conversion, 110, 117) corona then me?

You think getting belt drive is a valueable upgrade? I aim for silent and long running. Ive heard it even makes a little turbinelike sound, so its perfect for flying a scale body. :P

Im also wondering, since this is my first "big" heli, is the cool buzzing sound coming from the rotors normal? It almost sounds scale to a real one, so I sure hope its supposed to do that. Sofar I only had smaller indoor ones, but ive never heard them make any of these blade choppy humming kind of sounds. At first I was a little impressed by it when it first "growled" at me like that.

The stock rotor gear is fixed to the main shaft with set screws. Mine had a one-way bearing which when the motor stopped it would allow the main shaft to spin freely which took the strain off the gears. I converted to belt drive and brush less for better efficiency and less drag. The belt drive is so quiet. All you hear is the main blades which sounds very realistic. I'd definetly recommend the "Hyper drive" from Ballistic Technology. Worth every penny.

Cool, ill start saving up for one of those mods.

I just hovered around with the canopy off, for 7 minutes with ambient temps of 26'c (78'F), and after flying the motor temp was reading around 52'c (125'F). You guys think this temp is ok? Or to hot?

Hello All,
I have been away from the hobby a couple years I now have the bug again. My dad is going to learn to fly I have a Esky Honey Bee 2 that that he was going to use but it's not a very good trainer so I'm going to sell it.

We got a Corona 120 with tons of spares for him it has the Fusion 35 brushed with the Fusion 7 motor I'm trying to find out if I can run 11.1 volt lipo's with this setup or not?

If anyones interested in the Honey Bee 2 PM me an I'll get back to you on it.

Thanks

I saw that someone had converted a 'gas' Corona to an electric and calls it a 120 (EP). What would the EP stand for, and what is the difference between a converted Corona and a 'stock' one?

The 116 & 117 are gas The 120 is electric.
I don’t think you can get parts for any of these any more.
Get a Honey Bee KING V2 best bang for the buck.
DO NOT GET A HELI WITH A MOTOR ON TAIL!
