Status: offline 		Well, after a *lot* of flying, crashing and giving some of my Hitec servos a lot of abuse, I finally managed to bust a set of servo gears (the ones in those 225's don't count).

A tailslide from about 15 feet (engine stopped in a hover) straight onto the tail of my 40-sized GeeBee 3D profile plane did the trick.

I can't believe how strong the HS425 servos are and I'm shocked that it's taken me this long to do some meaningful damage to one.

At least I don't feel so silly about buying those spare gearsets that have been sitting in the cupboard for about two years as I finally got to use one of them ;-)

These must be about the best "standard" BB servo on the market IMHO -- and I've tried a few others but always been disappointed in some way or another.

I've even modified a few by fitting digital amps (cheap Chinese board $8 a pop) and then they *really* shine with more torque, faster operation, better resolution and wonderful holding power -- and the motors/gears still hold up to all this.

I think it might be time to order another dozen HS425BBs for my next few planes.

Oh, by the way: can I get a warranty replacement on those gears? :-) (just kidding)
