Herehttp://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4305776/anchors_4305776/mpage_1/key_driving%252Csand/anchor/tm.htm#4305776
Here's 1 link. The search works OK sometimes. Real soft sand won't be that much fun. Hard sand could be cool. I think the biggest thing is keeping outta the engine 1st! Then checking the gears between tanks and digging out any grains of sand caught in the gears. Oh the air filter! I read here i think that you can cut discs out of coffee filters and put them over the foam air filter. I saw them at the hobbyshop. Clean and Oil your air filter then put 1 filter disc on top and tuck the edge in around the top. the sand will blow right off. Just bring extras. Also put a zip tie on the air filter where it connects to the carb so it CAN'T pop off.

my air filter fell off my jato when i was running it in the sand and the engine stalled it sucked so much sand in, i ran home and cleaned it out, the engine runs and has compression but its not the same as before the sand got in it.. not to mention how the oil and fuel from the engine and sand dont mix, its like they are magnets for each other, i used a quart of denatured alcahol and 2 cans of air. wont be doing it again.

I wouldnt recommend driving in the sand. I remember I took mine to the beach and it was not a pleasant experience. Driving it was great fun. But the clean up afterwards was such a chore. I had sand and salt caked in all my bearings. Rust everywhere. Had to baisically dismantle everything and clean it from the ground up. So unless youre the type of person who enjoys that type of meticulous cleaning id avoid it.

My Nephew Chubby. Had that happen to his Volcano. He blew the motor . I think Dennis said it's on his video he's got on Putfile. Near the end you hear Dennis say it. Kinda funny... Sand can really trash a car quick but it is fun to run in.

Check your gears, you may have a few teeth knocked out. Check to make sure that you're brake isn't jammed in some weird position also.

ag, you either A: need a new glow plug, or B: have one of your needles set too rich.

try turning the HSN and the LSN in both about 1/8"

Check out the FAQ THREAD buddy. I've got a little post that explains how the 2 speed works. It's towards the bottom.

About the tires spinning. Can you get them stopped by applying the brakes or does the motor just stall? If it stalls it means your clutch spring is probably broken and that your clutch is always engaged. So just replace the spring with the traxxas 4146xx spring.
If that isn't the case then you're right about your using your controller to adjust the idle. But keep in mind that your controller can only adjust it so much. What you're going to have to do now is adjust the actual idle screw on the carb. It's the screw right under the airfilter. Turn it Clockwise untill the tires stop spinning. Again theres a little more info about it in the FAQ thread
If you've got anymore questions let us know.

How are the bearings in the clutchbell?? It could be possible you have a clutchbell bearing thats bad or going bad and binding screeching ect. That would cause exactly what you're describing also.

hey guys tried it all except traxxas spring, still have to go to the store to get it and the truck runs good but it didn't take long befor the gears were striped so i put the one speed on and is back to normal but it seems to be not as fast. the n naturaly i started jumping on my ramp got eleven foot air almost strait up cracked the body but no other damage. it quit in mid air you guys got any idea why? then i started goofing off and broke 2 parts, one in front and one in back and lost 2 of the axles but i had a spare a arm and axle so im stuck in cripled front drive for now till i send for more parts.

If you want an entirely new differential here's what you'll need:

This comes with the planetary gears inside of it.

You'll also need some bearings. You'll need two 10x15x4 and two 5x10x4 bearings. Click those links for a guy on ebay who sells bearings for cheap.

You'll also need some spacers but you can usually pick those up at any hardware store.

Good luck.

Just to add...The differential set does not include the bearings. You'll need to get the bearings Popper said. I would suggest buying a few of both of those bearings. They will fit in many locations on the truck. Wheels, clutchbell and Transmision. Great to have spares on hand.

part #02051 otherwise known as the gearbox does not come with the gears in it. It's only the plastic case.
If you look up at my post those other parts are the gears that you'll need if you had to replace the whole thing.

There are a few guys on this forum that have sites check out:

www.topspeedtoys.com (Run by Mr. Topspeedtoys himself)

www.clermontmotorsports.com (Run by chubbysuncle... i mean dad... )

Also i think entity might be selling stuff if you email him. Not sure if he's still doing that or not though.

Welcome to the forums man. We're all a pretty helpful bunch so feel free to ask anything you may have on your mind.
