Yeah, nothing new there. It just ships with the bell hiller head installed, a lipo instead of the nicd pack, and an aluminum swashplate. You can get all those mods from e-flite for the regular CP.

Now if they had stuck a brushless motor in there...then it might be worth it.

Whats more interesting is that new HH gyro option...if its actually a good gyro, might be a great option for those MX400/Trex users that cant afford a GY401.

they should have made the TX rechargeable with a plug, included the brushless motor, an UPGRADED tail motor ( the heatsink BS is just fluf and kibble) and ok, so the other channel is "useable" now...........

Landing gear still sucks, canopy is different color, and Bell/Hiller Head is the only nicer upgrade ( easily doable with aftermarket parts and are better quality) and WHOOOPPIIE !!!! CF blades......

Please

At least have the " PRO" model be worth an eye batting @.

NOT IMPRESSED.

An employee at the local mom and pop hobby store told me that he bought the blade cx to start out on, and when they got in the blade cp, he was going to buy it, but after hearing about the blade cp "pro" he decided to wait until they get that in to make his next purchase. He was advising me to do the same, so I read as much info as I could get on it, and decided to buy the blade cp and when or if I want to hop it up I can buy the necessary parts (or buy better aftermarket parts) and do it myself.

To me it really doesnt look like they are going after the whole "ooh aaaah it's so cool" market but rather a market for people that dont want to mess with doing the simple upgrades themselves and would just rather be able to buy a capable heli out of the box. In this way they get a nice share of the aftermarket scene to themselves in that the people that buy the pro model will be spending their money with eflite instead of buying the cp then buying the aftermarket kits available, or perhaps losing the sale alltogether because someone wants a heli that is relatively inexpensive (in my area the blade cp really does appeal to rc newbies because of it's price tag, which makes it really easy to get into the hobby), and yet can do some tricks. So the regular cp might not appeal to these people as much as say a $300.00 model by a competitor that might be somewhat 3D ready.

Now if I were in my LHS and they had the CP and the CP pro for 30 or 40 dollars more, then I would probably pick up the Pro (obviously it's cheaper to buy it from eflite then it is to upgrade all the different parts to a regular CP) only because the work is done for me, but seeing as it wasn't it's no skin off my teeth so to speak, as when Im ready or desire to I can buy the parts and screw or glue them in place. Not a big deal and definately not a "oooh aaaah" factor in my eyes. If anything I think I'll probably buy the optional white canopy with no stickers as I like the white color better than the cp's yellow canopy, of course if I could get a full fuselage for my blade cp I'd buy that instead, as I think a full canopy looks so much nicer than what is available for the blade currently.

Just my 2 centavos.

hey guys,..... you do the math....

if you buy a regular blade and upgrade.....
E-Flite Blade CP= $200-$220
800 mah li-po = $38-$45 or so
cheapo charger= $10 or so? no clue, would definetly get a smart charger in which case you will spend $40
heatsinks = $5
motor with 9 or 8 pinions = $10
symmetrical blades = $16
bell mixer upgrade = $25
Bell mixer blade grip = $10
bell mixer arm+pushrod= $5

This adds up to $319 on the low side, and around $376 on the high side

or you can spend $ 250, get the blade cp pro, and have the capability to upgrade to brushless and a decent gyro with the included gear

what would you do?

EDIT: aww, beat me to it kinda

Well the canopy is new and the Tx is set up for the heading lock gyro upgrade. Don't know if the standard cp has 2 adjustment knobs on the top of the transmitter or not.

I can understand if you dont already have a Blade CP, but for those of us that already have Blade CP's.....its a waste of time.
If they are going to make a "Pro" version, it should have a brushless motors, metal head, etc if they want people to upgrade.
Those of us that have Blade CP's, have already done all those upgrades.

my take on blades is this (speaking from experience):

Get a CX if you've never flown an rc heli

Get a blade CP or PRO if you allready know how to fly helis and want a toy (it's a toy compared to what flys good...ie. a trex, raptor, etc). I couldn't imagine learing with one though (or any 450 or smaller sized electrics for that matter......they're just so much more twitchy and less stable compared to a nitro 30 sized or larger heli), but If you don't mind getting nickled and dimed to death on parts it is a pretty cost effective option.

I would not get a blade CP pro with it's sole purpose to fly (or learn) aerobatics and 3d...just get a trex

Why not buy a cp pro. I could get three and lots of parts for the price of one T Rex and the Radio that you have to buy seperate to even get the thing off the ground and I can fix my cp pro a lot cheaper if I crash.
