At the risk of starting a blood feud here what engine and servo’s would you use on the bird? World Models P-51D .60

This is my 4th plane but my first .60 size and I am unsure exactly where to start for engine and servo’s.

Everyone seems to “over power” the plane from what I can find doing a forum search. World Models suggests a 2C .60 or a 4C .91. Is this enough? I’m a believer in the saying “no replacement for displacement” and after seeing the size of the plane question the authority with which a .60 could drag the plane around. I am a Super Tigre fan and would consider a .75 but the muffler is such a beast on the ST’s I don’t think that would be an option. I have not looked at the option of a Pitts muffler for the .75 but that might be a possibility as well. While a 4C is an option I would prefer to stay with a 2C from the cost stand point if possible and the fact I am comfortable with the tuning of 2C.

On to servos, I use Futaba equipment (non PCM). I think the S3004 will be fine for the throttle and since each aileron has its own servo I think they may be ok there as well. The rudder, flaps and elevator give me pause for concern. I know I will need a high torque servo for the retracts.

Thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated

The Hitec HS75BB retract servo will be fine. YS110 would be the best engine. I am not sure about the other servos. I had an Expert 571 (62oz of torque I think) fail on final approach. I regained temporary control about 6ft off the ground to land it without a scratch.

I have a ST 75 with a Slimline Pitts muffler on a DD FW-190(7.5 lbs, now expired). It was adequate at 3500' altitude. Not much vertical and medium speed. I use Futaba 3004 servos for all control surfaces on planes (all warbirds) up to 10 lbs or so without any trouble. Do use a high torque on the retracts. However I fly moderate, scale speeds. The YS110 will probably give you a 100+ mph plane. If you go that route, get stronger servos for the control surfaces.

There's my suggestions. I like the WM planes. Enjoy yours.
