Yeah with the 5.5t on 2s lipo you're looking at just under 40mph with standard gearing, lol.

not sure if theres metaral gears but do get the optional speed tuned gears by tamiya (55t/58t spur gears, coloured black).
you wouldn't need metal gears as long as you drivetrain is bind free and smooth.

I have lots of hopups but these proved to be the most effective

I thought that 5.5 would get it over 40 mph!

What motor should I be installing to get it faster than 40 mph?

going beyond a 6000KV motor on a TT is silly, for one the drive train will not be able to handle it, the heat alone caused by friction would eventually melt components, for two, you'll have trouble keepin the wheels on the ground, ballooning of tyres compounded with lack of traction= no stability. if you wanna go straight line drag, a 5.5 ezrun will get you well past 60kph geared at 25/55 but going past that i would, from experience, suggest against it. the 5.5 is plenty swift for this entry level chassis.

So the 5.5t 6000kv would be the perfect motor for my TT-01?

Also can you please advise me with the gearing system? e.g. 25/55

hey brushless4life you need to get a larger hole pinion as the av pinions wont fit on that so put it in a car that takes 48pitch (your hsp)

The R34 has to be one of my favourite cars of all time, from way back in the days of Gran Turismo 2. I'd say to clean them up I'd just run it on some wet and dry paper that you've taped down to a plank. Holding the car I mean, you may have to get someone to do the transmitter or you could get the wheels spinning using the trim on your tx

For drift btw, you may well find it's near impossible to control once you put that motor in it

good luck brushless for life, but it sounds a bit risky using a drill to get it to the right size, have u seen if swapping rotors with your old ezrun 13t ribbed can motor will work? You will need to use different bearing to do that

Good idea, drilling the old pinion could have screwed it unless you have a good drill press and vice I ordered a GPM tie-rod set to see if that helps front suspension travel and general rubbishness!
