Just Yesterday I totally makeshifted a tt-01 rally... Instead of the normal positioning of the dampers, I drilled holes where the wishbone suspension arms get mounted to the body. So my damper got way smaller and doesn't work properly but I raised the ride height of my car almost a half inch!

I took it out to test it off-road and it's so tight! rallying is the best. I used to drift it all the time but now all I have to do to convert it to drifting again is reposition the dampers in the original locations, and change the tires.

A little warning though is that this makes your top wishbone in the front and the back a lot weaker. So hypothetically crashing can easily brake them... easier than before. So far it hasn't happend to me.

All that happend to me is that I launched it full speed down a trench about 15 feet far and 7 feet down... my rear diff box came undone for a second because of a missing screw and my dogbone fell out... besides that though it rallys perfectly

So if you want to make your TT-01 rally for practically no money, just do what i did.

Heres some pics of the setup... I'll upload action shots later.

^ see the dampers aren't in the normal mounting holes

Just open the diff case up with small scewdriver and use something to block the metal cogs, dont glue it unless you want prem locked ive used balls of paper seems to work good.
Bluetac,nitro tubing works too.
To open your front diff, unscew the front bumper and undo the 2 screw on front case.

yeah i used a bunch of tiny rubber bands to block them... it didnt lock them but it tightened them allot, practically locking them.

Got a question and figured this would be the perfect place to ask . . . I just recent recieved a TT-01 kit, new in box and built it and was running it yesterday and had a lot of fun with it, however I want to do some upgrades. Now of course I am going to be doing the following upgrades:

1. Ball Bearings
2. Aluminum Drive Shaft
3. Oil Filled Shocks

Now what I really want is more speed than what the stock Tamiya 540 can give. I can not afford a brushless motor/kit at this time so I want to stay with the standard motors. Now I know that the lower the turns a motor has, the higher the rpm the motor can produce, the faster the car will go. However I have no idea what pinion and spur gear combination I should get. Also I only have the stock ESC that came with the TT-01 from Tamiya, and I don't know what the limitation of that ESC is. I am hoping that someone has the answers to my question :-D!!!

Thanks
