Hi QuiQue, Wayne or Rezagh,

I received the 73" Yak 2 days ago and plan to build it this week end.. it is good quality kit.

My plan is to use the electric motor, I have bought Cyclone F3A outrunner with 20x13 E-prop with combination with 5300-10S thunder Power set-up. I want to use this plan for hard 3D plane. (option for me is to use Hacker 14XL with 21x12 E-prop)

Do you have any comments on that set-up.. and how it compares with YZ-140/160.. I noticed QQ tried electric motor in several occasions. How he likes Electric Vs Glow in term of 3D performance.

Regards,

ekas

Hi ekas,

I would have to check with Quique to be able to answer your question. He's gone to Florida and won't be back until May 9th. I will get back with you once I have more info. Sorry I couldn't help.

Thank you,
Reza

Hi Rezagh,

No problem, I'll wait.

BTW, please could you advise the setting for the aircraft, I just want to cchek that I got it right because everythings seems fix and pre-set from the manufacturer
* Enggine Right Thrust
* Enggine Down Trust (I heard It must be 0)
* Main Wing incident (relative to the datum line - I assume the canopy base line)
* Stab incident

Thanks.

Ekas

You are right everything is pre-fix. There is no down thrust only right thrust. For the stab as long as you make the right measurement like manual suggested in the manual you should be fine. Don't worry about the wings just plug them in once you have the glued the Anti-Rotation pins to the right length.

Thank you,
Reza

Hi Rezagh,

I assume that QQ has back from Florida, please coud you ask him about the recommended pop. for 3D for Electic motor (I installed Cyclon F3A which has a same power with Hacker C50-14XL).

I tried 20x13 E but to it is too fast and heavy for 3D (good for F3A), 20x11 E is much better but I heard the big boys like Rolland Mat even use 20x10E... so what is the recomended props for QQ in his electric version of Yak before (I know that he flew Fiesta electric before for 3D).

My total weight with battery is 5.5 Kg.. do you think this is heavy ?.. what is the weight of the plane with YS 140DZ setup empty fuel (with the fuel + 0.5 kg offcourse).

Thanks

Eka

ekas,

Quique believes that 20x11E should be a good choice. He says prop selection is mostly dependant on engine spec so please see what the engine mfg recommends for your engine. He agrees with you on 20x13 is a fast prop.
