I do have 3 that are local but 4 would be nice. If I go local I will only get 2 for the tail. I wanted 4 for the wings and the tail.

tianci,

I'm about to bite the bullet again ( to be honest I don't understand the expression ) and order the Edge. I'm asking for an apriori opinion ...how is the edge vs the Extra. I had 2 300's ( actually I still have the second one ; just damaged the front part ) and I'm not sure which one to order. Called Fliton a week ago and asked some questions about the edge . With half voice he told me he prefers the Extra flight wise. I'm aware of the weaknesses of the Extra and I don't mind the crappy hardware of the Edge but I cannot make up my mind.
Any comments are more than welcome. The weather will force me to start building something.

Boby

Boby - you need to ask me that in like 3 months! I am just way to lazy to build the Edge. My 1st Extra was nitro and now I will go EP so I need to get both up in EP with the same motor. IMHO I dare not say a thing. The ICON 312 and the Prodigy are so different. I thought the ICON would fly like a typical 3D fun fly plane and read it dos nice IMAC, yeah it really did nice IMAC. I was surprised.

I would guess that both fly about the same. Why? Both designs are not far off from each another. In terms of the dimensions, ratios, datum line etc etc its about the same. The FL 330 is mid wing and so is the Edge, I compared the wings and they are about the same so are the horizontal stans. The rudder on the Edge looks a lot more authoratative.

We shall only know when one has flown both planes with the same set up. I need to get off my lazy bum!

Cliff

I was looking at your site today and I noticed you have some advise on electric setups for this plane. Do you sell a complete E-conversion "kit"? If so, how much does it cost? ...what is the predicted AUW with the E setup?

BTW if anyone out there doesn't have one of the EF Extras (this being the one I had to get off the bench to make way for the Edge) that Atlanta Hobbies sells as a complete pkg...you NEED one! Too much fun to arrive all in one box!

Vette-

On a plane with this much right thrust built into the motor mount the mounting hole/mark will be off to the left on purpose. Once the engine is installed the rightward angle of the mount will bring the end of the prop shaft right into the centerline as it exits the cowl.

Vette - you can do it! We all believe in you!!! On a more serious note, since you are a full fledged IMAC pilot (I am a 'Just Have Fun' pilot) let us know what you think of the plane.

Has any one had one of these in the air yet?....I just checked the weather for tomorow and they are saying 25 to 30mph winds. I cant stand weather men. That probably means 75 deg sunny and 0 wind.........I guess I will flip a coin to see wether or not I want to load up the planes and drive 45 min to the field.

Not yet for me. Thanks for posting the pics...give me incentive to get mine done. Is that the Saito100 on there? Are those elevator servos digitally reversed, or do you have to use a reversing harness? Steve

Oh yeah, and where did you mount the tank on yours? I was thinking over the wing spar so that it would be close to the CG, but then I'm not sure if I'll have to use a pump...

I live in Atlanta, so I visited Cliff at Atlanta hobby and picked up the new Fliton edge. Looking forward to flying it when the wind dies down. Should be a screamer with a OS .91fx in it. I'll give the flight report on it as soon as I can take it up!

The 91FX will happily haul an 8 lbs plane. On the FL Edge I doubt its just a mere screamer, probably more!
