Is the slimline showtime worth having? I haven't got one yet, but I will soon. I think it's against the law to have a big biplane without smoke.

For me the best is the one that works when it is needed. Today I just finished testing a re-installation of an old Benett system on my 35% Extra with a Brison 6.4 twin. The TME went south for the second time even with major shock mounting. The old system requires a crankcase tap plus a servo to run the control valve for the diaphragm pump. The system seems to work fine even after sitting for about 8 years.
Doing another one I would go with the electric pumps again but would try another brand for a change.

I use the SkyWriter by Sullivan and it works great. I have on in my 31% Staudacher for about 4 years now and one in my new 27% CA 300L. A 6v battery should be used on these systems for best results though. I'm not sure what the Slimline system uses.

Got the TME system on my Pitts 12 with the OS 1.60FX, and it works great. Anyone who says a big two stroke cant produce good smoke hasnt tried hard enough!

i just installed a showtime by slimline on my 1/3 scale sopwith pup, g-62 smoke muffler, i have NO complaints!!! talk about a huge trail of smoke, has its own battery inside it, use your computer radio to adjust the amount of smoke. i fired her up in the pits and turned it on, the cars 20 feet away disappeared! everyone thought i had a huge fire going!

I use Don Harris pumps. Hard to find, but they do work.

I suspect the 3W pump works well too.
